Hi Guys, well this is my first post here for some time, so to recap quickly, my first dirt bike for 25 plus years, was going to buy a XR at first but decided after riding a friends DR250 that an electric leg was the go, so swapped to a DRZ250 but after a while decided the extra weight and water cooling wasn’t for me so then finally decided on the TTR, electric leg, air cooled, lighter than the DRZ, dare I say better suspension than the DRZ, so I’ve been told, etc…

So I got a pretty good one for $3750 with 3000k’s on the clock in good condition, a slight oil leak behind the C/Shaft sprocket, so far that’s the only thing I can fault it on, it came with a staintune exhaust, so that was the first thing to go, to noisy for me, also the previous owner didn’t rejet it so it ran a bit crap with less power in the bottom end, now it’s quiet, smooth and better off idle, here’s a few picks of my first ride on some local fire trails

Sounds like a good buy Steve. Great bike for learning and getting into the bush on.

Try photobucket to upload your pics to and then link them here.

Here is a step by step to photobucket by Chris72a Simple Photobucket tutorial

Just tried the upload direct version. Didn’t work. I’m not sure how the direct image upload thingy works.

Welcome Steve, nice pictures mate and a nice bike. Don’t see many open face helmets around now days, Damus is the only other I remember seeing. (Boony’s head looks like it has had many an accident in an open face but hasn’t  )
I had open face helmets as a kid on the farm, I had a fall and skinned a fair bit of my face and Mum bought me a full face helmet, a Shoei it seemed as though it weight 30 kilos compared to the open face  Buggered if I could get use to the lack of vision, low vision the low front area. You have to go from a open to full to get what I am talking about really, that said I couldnt ride with a face scrapper now (open face)

Nice area and like I said the bike looks great, hopefully see you on the trails

    Hey TB
I was a bit worried about the open face at first but am used to it now also as you say the lack of vision and ventilation in a fullface outweigh the disadvantages I think, modern open face are a lot better than they used to be, the sides come around a lot further and they are thick so keeping your face away from the ground as well, also a mate got it for me for free, they cost brand new $159, got a set of Thor Ally goggles as well for $39 from Torpedo7 last week on weekly special, MCA at Auburn sell them for $109

I’ll have to shoot a PM off to the Sunny corner guys soon for some riding up that way but ATM I am enjoying the local fire trails and the photo ops I can’t usually get to
