I just bought my self an early Christmas present (the boss is in the Christmas spirit) a drz400. It’s yellow, has black round rubbery things on the bottom, a bit at the back that blows hot air & goes putt putt putt, & a strange button on the handle bars that when pushed, makes the bit in the middle go vrooom!

I put the xl 250 out the front of work, after giving it a scrubbing & sold it in half a day.
Good by muscly right leg, hello muscly thumb.
    HOORAY!

    Nice one thechad,
Flick us some pics and a review when you spark it up.
I’m thinking WR250R or DRZ400 or Berg 390. For myself.

    Well done 44…pro tyre kicker…

I will have some photo’s after Christmas. I still havn’t ridden it any further than around my work as its not registered yet, but I am hanging out for a ride.
After Adam let me ride his drz, I realised the the massive difference from the 1982 XL & i havent ridden the XL off road since then.

I used steel wool with metal cleaner/polish and it came up a treat , might be hard to do on the hubs though !

the quickest fix for that off coloured aliminium look is to find a muddy trail and ride like the wind.. problem solved,

Has anyone with a DRZ ever had battery problems ?

I would love to buy a new Berg 390 or 450 but the lack of a kickstarter scares the shit out of me.

    Aido,

Was out riding with Burgie09 (DRZ) and he had his regulator fail, then flat battery.

He would park if we stopped where he could roll start it ;)

We were riding in sand at one stage and had to tow start him as there was no way we could push it fast enough. :pinch:

As it happened he kept stalling due to a faulty kick stand switch which was promptly bypassed ;)

If you were by yourself it may be difficult  however I was never stuck anywhere with my DRZ, well not due to not starting anyway :P

    Adam.
