    Hey All,
If you havent heard MCA is having there annual EOFYS from now till June 30.

Might be a good time to grab a brace at the right price B)

Going to go down and have a look at a Leatt and some armour to go with it today.

The omega wont work with my current armour :(

I thought I said I was going for a look
New Leatt GPX Trail brace and a Leatt pressure suit to suit.

Its not the EOFYS its actually their birthday sale but its still 10% off.
Got a few other bits as well and all up saved about $80 bucks.
Will pay for the fuel to newy on the way to the birthday ride ;)

Does anyone in adv land wear the Leatt brace on the outside of their adv jackets.

I know they tell you to have it close to your body but when I do this it makes my jacket impossible to do up :pinch:

Was thinking I would sculpt a bit of the back protector out to make it sit flush with my back, surely an extra few millimetres of fabric cant do any harm to the braces performance can it

    Good insurance TB,
I think it will take me a little while to get used to it especially on the road, got a bad case of Farriers back, makes turning round to see traffic interesting.

Been playing with the new brace / pressure suit this arvo, struggling a little to get it right and all working together with the jersey, camelback etc.

    More playing required.

I think i have it close, skin top, then pressure suit, jersey then brace and camelback.

I will need to get used to the restricted head movement, but its for the best

    For those in the market…

Torpedo 7 currently have LEATT GPX Adventure 3 for $199, current offer also includes free freight for orders over $125.
    LEATT LINK HERE

They also have AXO Stone jacket, which I have, and is LEATT compatible for $80 (yes you read right!). It is a $240 jacket with a HUGE discount. I’m very impressed with mine.

    JACKET LINK HERE

NO AFFILIATION AT ALL WITH TORPEDO 7 JUST PASSING ON WHAT I THINK ARE GOOD DEALS

Ahhh the neck brace debate again.

Its great to see that it’s all possitive this time.

For the record I think they are the cheapest form of insurance money can buy. I dont ride without mine. I have had it for almost 3 years and Im supprised at how slow the take up of them really is.

I cant say for sure, but I think mine save me a bit when I hit the deck a few weeks ago. The important thing is that I don’t know……so it probably did its job. I cant help but think that I would have been fully knocked out if I didnt have it on.

    Old girl….get one!!!

+1 I wont ride without mine either FF. If you haven’t got one, get one! After a short while using one you won’t even know that you are wearing it.

    Hi Trailraider and James,

I have changed the way I wear mine a few times and both work but the latter is a little more comfortable on cold days.

Firstly I would have a shirt (skins top or thermal or just tee shirt), then pressure suit- I would put the front inside the pressure suit and the thorax section on the outside BUT slip in under the back armour, then jacket over the top and camelbak over the top with the chest brace over the front to hold it all down. This worked well but my jacket was a little open at the front and let cold air in.
So I recently tried having the front section on the outside of my adv jacket, this also works really well, I still have the thorax section under my amour. Each to their own and what works will be the best for you.

I purchased mine on Torpedo 7 back when they were $400……….still VERY cheap insurance.

At first I found it a little restrictive…..but I figured it was less restrictive than a wheelchair.

My final point for any of the guys who whinge about it being difficult and restrictive to wear……….try learning to wear a bra…………at first it is tight, uncomfortable and restrictive. BUT ultimate it is for the best and after a while you forget you are wearing it!! 😆 😆

Sorry Amy have only just noticed this, your right it does take a little bit of playing around with different combinations and such and on the weekend I wore a backpack as well for the first time which at first I thought would be a hassle, but not long into the day and all was good and comfortable so I will keep wearing the brace.
A little unsure of what the warmer weather will do to my opinion of the whole setup I guess it means just buying body armour and a jersey.

    Cheers James
