    Just starting an info thread for the Beemer G450X, a new bike with a few unknown factors as it stands today.

    If you have a helpful idea, tip or a link for after market parts for it let us know.

    I only know 1 or 2 things so far;

    Cut the wire loop in the power plug and run a wire & switch to the bars so you can switch to low power mode in the wet to keep it a bit tame.

    Also the headlight switch sux!
    Not really, you can pull the knob off to remove a tiny metal cylinder, replace the knob and presto, your switch now has a third OFF position.
    There are 2 white clips inside one side of the knob which must be squeezed together to pop off the knob.

    This fix is needed if you stop/start a fair bit like in tough sections.
    With the headlight remaining on for 5-10 seconds it runs down the battery quickly – trust me.

    Cheers, and post up.

    Hey Wicked,

    can i be so rude to ask what the beamer set you back?

    how dose it perform? what can you compare it to? i.e. what have you ridden and how dose it stack up?

    much appreciated, regards drew.

    $12,450 + rego.
    I love it now but the front end needed tweaking, hence the damper.
    Had a DRZ400e before – cant compare a banana with a BMW, but have ridden an 06 WR450 while my mate tried the beemer, I thought they were very similar but the WR has a much better (softer) seat but slugish clutch, the beemer had more off idle power, smoother and no carby (I am so over fine tuning those fart arse things).
