tech 10`s have been great boots but after 3 years of riding with the paddles down they are starting to show some wear and tear   im just thinking of trying something differant and with the dollar so strong now is time to buy from the states
October 22, 2010 at 8:52 am #189367I have Gaerne SG12’s and don’t like them at all, IMO they are heavy, the pivot system doesn’t allow enough movement, I struggle to apply the rear brake whilst standing (Yes I have tried raising the pedal) and struggle to shift up gears even with a raised +5 hammerhead gearlever. I’ll be looking at the SIDI’s soon to replace these, hopefully they will be better! If not i will go back to a cheaper boot like a TECH 3 or 661 both of which I have been happy with.
October 22, 2010 at 9:06 am #189377maybe another boot to consider is the TCX Pro 2. I just ordered another pair from BTO sports from the states for $280 landed. This will be my second pair because they have a great pivot system so are comfortable right from the start and take my slightly wider foot easily.

I think TB had a pair of those stolen so they must be good

October 23, 2010 at 12:15 am #189376I have just purchased another pair of the TCX pro 2’s from BTO they are very good indeed, they are made in China  but the quality appears to be excellent. The Boots are a size smaller than what they are on the box Ie I normally take a size 10 shoe but the size 12 Boot fits really well with only about 5 mm of play from the toe to the outside of the Booty. They are limited in their stock and selling fast, TCX are bringing out a newer model in the very near future so the TCX PRO 2 is being superceded. Torpedo7(have them for $349.99 including free shipping with a 365 day return) and probably the size 11 that I should have got! http://www.torpedo7.com.au/products/TXBWXN9P2/title/tcx-pro-2-boots

October 23, 2010 at 6:28 am #189368The TCX`s are awsome
Suoer comfy from brand new oit of the box & great protection of the ankle area,,,
I got mine from Hills at Castle Hill a while back (TB got his pair at the same time, then they got knocked off) :angry:December 30, 2010 at 10:26 pm #189369I think the booties are for comfort Krusty and may keep you feet drier.
You must have been a very good boy this year, Santa has been very good to you
January 2, 2011 at 10:20 am #189370How are the sizeing on these boots? Would you go one size up fron your normal size ?
TB i hope these questions dont make you head fall off
January 2, 2011 at 10:41 am #193759Aido, I have bought these boots and found them to be about size smaller than normal. I have a size 10.5 foot but could only get a size 12 US boot. They are about 4-5mm to big but not to bad and once you are wearing them you dont even know it.
BTO have them for $175 ATM but limited size (princess sizes only left)http://www.btosports.com/p/TCXPRO2BOOT
Torpedo 7 have them in all sizes for about $349 Aust http://www.torpedo7.com.au/products/TXBWXN9P2/title/tcx-pro-2-boots
Krusty got em for a Bargain which shop?

January 2, 2011 at 10:46 am #193762My first pair of boots were fox trackers and i had to go two sizes above normal to fit.
I then bought Alpinestar tech10 and had to go up one size extra.
Thats why i asked the questionJanuary 2, 2011 at 10:50 am #193763aido wrote:

January 2, 2011 at 12:38 pm #189371The TCX Comp 2 boots are really good as well, same as the Pro2 except without the bootie.
I had to get the comp2 because they sold out of the Pro 2 in my size. Got mine from BTO Sports.
I did put new softer inner soles in though which helped alot with comfort.
I had fox comp5 before that and the difference is chalk and cheese.
Heeps of movement due to the hinge system and really comfy. -
