I just got a HP all-in-one for 800 bucks, its probably shit compared to a mac but it loads up porn and moto videos quick enough for me.

$4500 on a computer

Could get a decent 2nd hand bike for that.

The Apple is the best of the bunch and is good for video editing and the cool factor. If you have other Apple products the integration between devices is also simple and easy to manage.

There are things I don’t like about the Mac though, mostly just niggly things having spent all my life on PC’s. On the whole though they are a good thing.

I have an Apple iPhone for my personal phone, iPhone for a work phone, iPad2, iMac, Apple TV and my girlfriends iPhone, plus I’m thinking about an iPad Mini.

I have 2 Dell laptops for work computers as well though and have just gotten rid of the dreaded Blackberry so I’m fairly impartial.

If you want to read the iBooks that you have purchased from Apple on your iMac, Macbook Pro or Macbook Air forget about it, for some reason they dont allow this???? This is an example of Apple’s (crappy) quirks. I’m only thinking about the ipad Mini because I can’t read books on a Macbook Air. I dont want to carry 2 phones, 2 laptops and an iPad everywhere I travel.

PS – Yes I know I can use Amazon or Kindle to read books on the Mac’s, point is I shouldn’t have to, I want all my files, music, books, videos in one place across all my devices.

iBook is an IOS app not a MAC OS app.. In time as they are slowly merging the two OS’s One of the pains with Apple is they drip feed.. Frustrating I agree……. But then again everyone does it… If they released all the whiz bang stuff up front how are they going to make their Gazillions? Look at Intel… chips we will be using 2, 3 or even 4 years from now have already been developed why give it to us now? when they can release a version once a year and make 5 times the money…

Apple are the ones preaching uniformity across all their devices, not me. I’m only moaning that they’re full of shit! I get the whole processor thing but how does not making books available to be sold across more Apple platforms help them make more money?

For apps that generate revenue, surely it’s best to have them accessed from every possible area to increase revenue. I can’t think of one reason (other than software compatibility which is BS) why not having it on all devices is a good idea.

As far as I can tell most just use their competitors products to purchase and read books on these devices instead. I won’t be buying a MacBook Air as a result, some money making strategy!

Uniformity across their iOS devices… It will come.. They brought Facetime, iMessages, Reminders etc to the Macs… If look hard enough you can find apps to remove the iBooks DRM and read them on the kindle desktop app.. ;) You have more selection from Amazon as well.. they have an app for all devices not sure why you even bother with iBooks.. I personally dislike it.
