Hi my name is Peter, I come from Ingleburn nsw, I only recently registered the XL250 (29 years old & still going strong). I have been riding on the road for 26 years on & off, so when I went for a ride off road with Merv at Christmas time it was a totally new experience for me but i really enjoyed it ( except for the sand which scares the crap out of me).
I didn’t really think about my user name so it has nothing to do with anyone talented.

Any mate of Mervs can’t be all bad.:laugh:
The XL250 is a good old bus i had a 500 in the old days.
You’ll find plenty going on here at the OBTs site so look around for some rides.
There’s been a couple of 2 – 2.5 rides down Nowra way that would be good to jump on when they come up again.
Oh! and don’t worry about the user name a lot of us didn’t really think ours through either.:unsure: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

Hi Peter
I have a 1978 xl250s and although the choke cable seized about 2 years ago it starts every kick. I use it as out farm get about bike as I now have other trail bikes but every time I jump on the XL it makes me smile !!

Thanks Rebore, my XL used to be Mervs until he decided to exercise his thumb instead of his right leg.
I just love riding no matter what it is, though i must admit its hard to kick start on soft ground or on a slope.
I will keep my eyes out for some easy rides until i get used to the dirt.

Nick I have no problems starting also, first go almost every time, as long as you let it know who is the boss. I even ride it to work when ever I can.

Im glad you posted a picture, now the boss can see I really did go riding.
Shame you had to put on a photo of me before I got a speck of dirt on my gear.
Also is it just me or does my bike look small?:unsure:
