Hello oldbulls,my name is jim and have only recently discovered the world of motorcycles.I guess one could say the result of a midlife crisis. My first bike was a ttr 250,which i had for a couple of years but after following my two young boys around and around a five acre paddock i was becoming bored.I now have a xt660z which i bought in march 2012 and have racked up about 12000 klm on.Mostly on road, but i do go up through st albans to bucketty quite often, also up to mountain lagoon.Anyway after following the site for a while now it looks like you guys and girls have a lot of fun,and for someone like me with little or no knowledge it would be a bonus to be able to join in sometime. cheers jim.

    Welcome to the site Jim!
Your story is not unlike many here and you will fit right in. Keep an eye out for upcoming rides in your area and enjoy OBT. There are a lot of great characters to meet.

Hey singletrackmind, pete the wulf and tb,thanks for replying.Steve/adventure moto, had told me to join up a while back but i felt like i was not capable enough too after viewing some oldbull ride footage.Mind you still very underdone but find myself always doing the same rides as im not aware of all the tracks.I am kicking myself though because your lastest St albans ride looked like an awesome way to spend a weekend, and in fact i rode past the pub friday arvo, even waved to TB,[black tenere, orange helmet,P plates].So very dissapointed to have missed out on that ride but looking forward to not having to ride solo all the time.Im also a master at palming work off to another day ,so to go for a small local ride on most occasions at short notice isnt a problem.

So that was you Jim at St Albans. Next time stop mate bikes are the easiest ice breaker
You would have enjoyed that ride on the weekend seems everybody did. 95% of old bull rides accommodate all levels or are clearly marked if they don’t. Dejay and I slip out for rides local a bit and now PTW has seen the light we will hook up with him now as well so you will have to join in.
I am running another 2 dayer in Feb so keep you on the site

    Again welcome

Hi jeffro, I do remember passing by somebody but i couldnt have told you what bike they were riding as it takes all my concentration just not to have a head on.Watch the clip of that T intersection could have been real nasty.Oh and TB that 2 day ride in feb sounds like the go,probably more suited to me than some of the other more adventurous oldbull rides that seem to go for longer periods away from home.
