TB said to post up what i’ve done to it so here ya go.
The biggest part was the suspension.I ride in some tight trails and big bumped desert too so it would need to be plush as well as able to take the BIG bumps.
I do all my own work so it took a while to get it right..The springs were changed to 10kg rear and .45kg front(with 20mm preload, front).(I weigh 170lbs. with no gear)The valving stack on the rear and front changed mainly on the compression side, adding ABOUT 6 shims on the rear and 3 on the front, using a two-stage set up.The motor has a Hot Cams stage two cam and a full pipe system. The cam measures IN 9.57 liftEX9.51 lift, with duration at 265 and 260.That’s about a .50 more lift and A bit more duration than stock. The main reason i changed the cam was i was having problems with the auto compression release on the stock one.It would work only part of the time, thus making it hard to start.Especially with my bad knee!
Mated up with a full exhast system,it’s down right nuts!Braking.. i use a EBC oversized front rotor,I highly recommend it! Now it’s a one finger stopper!
The bars and upper clamp have been changed to get the bars off my lap.
Applied racing clamp and Renthal Fat bars with moose hand gaurds(not shown)It is road legal now with the install of a dual sport kit(modified) from Baja Designs.light with Highlow, brake light, mirror mount, horn, signals, plate mount and small battery. The head light assy. is cut back and now mounts with stock Honda rubber mounts. The reg./rectifier now sits under the seat.A trail tech speedo completes that legal stuff.
Small things… I use a 908 dunlop rear and a 401A bridgestone front. However i think i’ll go back to the maxxis rear in the future.
It has a oil sight tube(custom made) and XRs’ only oil temp dip stick.and a regina chain with renthal front sprocket at stock gearing.Billet pasenger pegs from Baja Designs.Small seat pack custom made by a local co. Bucks Bags. They will build any bag(s) you want!
A 4.3 gal. IMS tank.Moose racing skid plate.Future things…. The install of a pumper carb,(the cam install has made off idle response a little worse for stalls and a pumper will resolve this.
Steering damper and a higher wattage stator.(I run a 55Watt bulb)That’s all for now,If you’d like some more pics for some detail just ask i’ll see what i can do.
January 8, 2009 at 7:10 pm #117481Thanks Scalejockey appreciate the story, couple of things there I don’t have and would like the temperature dipstick, and the oil sight tube. I have been looking at an oil sight tube from BARNUMSPRO.
How did you make yours, do you have any pics or pointers?

Mine looks just like that one but is a lot shorter,it stops before the steering stop. I went to the hardware store for the all the fittings (REALLY cheap).I already had the 14″(?).Pipe tap.
I had a little problem drilling the bottom hole,i ran into some kind of cross bracing inside. You can see it when you have the oil drained.
I tried to drill and tap mine without removing the strainer on the bottom, but some metal did get inside and ended up needing to flush it out anyways.I know you can get a kit,but the real price of the parts is only 6 or 7(?) dollars.
I’ll post a pic latter..Here’s mine..
As you can see the oil drains down and is not visable until a few minutes of running.January 8, 2009 at 8:12 pm #117485Cheers SJ, shorter one would be so much better thanks mate

AnonymousSounds very bling SJ! A lot of TLC has gone into the BRP that’s for sure. They are a great bike and are very versatile. You’ll have to get on the case now, you might not have the most bling BRP on the site anymore
