Having just joined I thought I might test the waters a little and introduce myself. My name is Carl and I ride a 07 GS1200R and after recently completing a 4200k trek from Brisbane to the Vic Alps via the Snowies over 7 days managed to bust my hamstring going up a freshly graveled road out back of Dayborough a week before Christmas. No the better half wasn’t happy. I was riding a GS800 at the time and probably being too eager not to tail end a mate who was struggling with grip in front of me. All is well I think as I am now walking without the aid of crutches. If anyone is interested in seeing some of the images I took along the way on my big trek please go to http://web.me.com/carlosus1/Carlos_Personal/Odessey_08.html
Have been taking the dustier route around the place for awhile now and would like to hear from anyone with a good ride route within cooee of Brisbane as I am running out of new dirt roads to explore. Not that interested in single track but enjoy a bit of a challenge. Have covered some 29000ks on the GS in just over 18 months so I get out a fair bit.
That’s about it for now … Cheers Carl

AnonymousHello Carl, welcome to the forum. We are getting ever more members to the site and a few are/have branched out into longer adventure type rides. I’d like to have a go too but I can only afford so many toys!
We also have a fair few guys recently joined from Southern QLD/Brisbane area so maybe they can give you some pointers on some good trails to hit up

I love the whole long distance riding and am in the throws of getting setup for my missus and I to get out and tour some back roads etc.
There are a few of us that have recently purchased dual purpose bikes to give it a go.

AnonymousI may as well come out with it. My name’s Dave, I ride an orange shitbox aka KTM. It’s so bad I have to ride a crappy TTR because my bikes never work. I wish I was clever enough to fix them but I’m not.
I’m just too hardcore, there you have it, now you all know who I really am…….
