    Hi all.
I was known at dirtbike world as Wikddrz400, but now I have found this site, seems a better fit for me at 45 years young and still refusing to join the ulysees club (how ever that is spelled).

How does one correctly use the spell checker here any way?
It underlines in red but then what?

And to think I just spent 2 days learning how to run an IT helpdesk!
Lucky I didn’t pay the $1600 for that eh?

Oh yeah, I just got one of the new BMW 450s so I am real :woohoo:

    Hi WikdBeemer

I am Fiddy on DBW, Chris and I came up with this site over a few rums one night for the older people that are young at heart, we still pedal and have a great time. I am sorry about the ride last week and I didnt see your private message there I was to busy organising stuff here, you missed a great ride.

Cant wait to see the Bemmer on the trails, you are the first, what part of the central coast are you from?

Check the christams party out in the general section (chit chat and attendance) may see ya there.

PS dont worry about spelling, no one here worries

    TB (aka Fiddy)

Hey Fiddy, I asked the mods at DBW to change my name so it’s the same as here.
No worries about last week, but I do enjoy myself more riding with a few like minds (it gets lonely in the bush at night when you’re pinned under a bike).
Where on Central Coast? Cant explain too much for fear of the nasties (very secure though) but it’s the part between the Entrance and Wyong where you often see blue flashing lights.

Sorry to be politically correct but BJ2 at DBW got his Beemer about a week or so before I did, mine got held up in some red tape to do with the compliance plate (so they told me).
Still I was real happy cause I sold the DRZ 2 days later and this new bike is a real good thing for me, it’s teaching me to ride all over again, like the 5th time, seems every bike does this to me.

I will probably attend at least 1 day of the Xmas party since the Watties is only 1/2 hr. away :-)

    Cheers.
    Wikd.

Have fun Mick but dont break it, being a demo they will prolly expect you to pay for any damage you do to it. Spares are hard to find at this early stage and some things on the BMW system dont have prices either – this is one of the unknowns I worry about but other things like brake pads & oil filter aren’t too much $.

Ask if the bike has the power plug in or out and if you can try both.

I cant really feel much difference, but my bike is still loosening up.
The plug increases Horse power by 10 but torque by only 1KW and that 1KW is produced at 1000 rpm higher.
I guess that means it raises the power curve and you’d only feel it when you gas the bike right up which I have been reluctant to do until now.

    Thanks for the welcome too.

You F$&%$$% trader. You even think about dealing with those mongrels and I will never speak to you again. If you want a beemer let me know and i will get you in contact with a decent dealer. If you ride it make sure you crash it and destroy everything on it (not that I am bitter or anything)

Sorry Wikdbeemer, I do say welcome I am just a bit emotional at the moment. I cerainly hope you do not have half the trouble we hade with the BMW when I went to the release. Nice bike to ride but I expect there to be few teething probs in the first year. Don,t worry though BMW service is second to none (through the right dealer)and i am sure they will sort any probs that arise.

    Me too.
I have met people who have had trouble with BMW and equally as many who swear by them in the highest regard.
    Me? dunno yet…..

Wikdbeemer. BMW is a fabulous brand I honestly could say nothing bad about them, excellent people, excellent bikes. I just have issues with our local dealer which is a long story that you dont want to hear. I really loved the G450X and was about to buy one, but as they say the most important thing to consider when buying a bike is the local service you get and I am quite sure I would get 0 service with our local guy:woohoo: . You have bought a great bike, dont let my ramblings put you off, as I said I am just an emotional bastard (I am trying to get over it).
