    Wow,
What a day, great riding weather presented itself & we had a good local crew assembled to tackle one of Champo`s “Cruisy Rides”;)
    On deck were
    Champo
    Racytracy
    Eagle
    Moto
    Wikdbeemer
    DanD
    KylieD
    Old Al (new member)
    jeffro (new member)
Awsome to have some new OBT members only join up in the last week & hook up for this ride straight away:) :) :) Sorry to say that Seahorse (also new mwmber) was called in to work:(

After greetings etc at West Wallsend we headed out through varying terrain & track conditions, climbed hills, descended into gullies, came across another small group, changed Eagle`s front tube (tore valve stem out of Ultrs Heavy tube)
Not too many incidents other than the flat (that Eagle & Jeffro changed in recordtime)
Wound our way out to Brunkerville “The Gap Servo” for lunch & a chat, met another group & picked up another prospective member who was riding alone (Max on his 530 Kato, nice guy too)

Shortly after heading out from the servo, Tracy had a small incident on a hillclimb, which luckily slowed us up to realise that Champo (Sweep rider) was missing!!!! He too had succumbed to a flat, this one the rear with a punctured sidewall & pinched tube that no can of Finny Leak was gonna fix. He had gone back to the servo, so we all returned for another record time fix job :silly:

Once back on the trail, we all pretty much hooked in & headed back towards the Sugarloaf area with a couple of good open sections on ridge roads etc. A quick stop off at the lookout for Moto who hadn`t been there before, then we headed for the cars & said our goodbyes.

Champo, Tracy, Moto & myself then headed back towards Minmi, stopped off at the Kart track to watch some “J Class” nobodies HAMMERING round the track, locking wheels & kerb hopping:woohoo:
Then back to “Eagles Rest” before a quick blast round a local secret circuit ;) Where Moto dragged his arse again while Quote “attempting to act like a PRO MXer”   (we missed this one, but he told us bout it)

Anyway, A top day with great people, some good bike pedalling today guys;) ;) ;) ;)
Up to Champo now to add some piccies & maybe some more details

    CHEERS ALL

Great pics Champo. Judging by the second last pic and all the black marks on the tar, maybe Tiny has been there before?

    Nice Work as usual Champo,
I particularly like the pic of a certain Pumpkin rider pretending to be a KLX junkie:P I think the comments were “This seat is like a lounge chair” & “Crikey, That horn sounds like a real car horn”

As for Eagle & mud, What can I say, it has magnetic properties to me :P AT LEAST I DIDN`T SAMPLE IT TODAY, Literally
    Cheers

dunno. but when i got back to eagle’s after the secret track, i had 8mm of fuel left
. i did lose a lot when i forgot to turn off the fuel when i laid the bike down to ride racytracy’s bike across a row of slippery logs

Top day out. Old tracks and new faces.

My handle bars only touched the ground twice which is good for me! Got lost in some new single track when I was sweeping. Road around in circles until I found the arrows again. Be nice if all the good single track was arrowed.

Plenty of stops to chew the fat (and fix punctures).

Thanks all for inviting me along and look forward to riding with Old Bulls again.

Top day guys, thanks for Champo and DanD for being alternate lead riders and to all those who swept. It was a great day and we covered some great tracks, all of which are new to me.

The crew were great and everyone was more than willing to help where required showing the Old Bull spirit, there was something in the ride for everyone.

Memorbale moments (in no particular order):

    – Me falling off about 6 corners into the ride right in front of Old Al (what a loose unit!)
    – Eagle getting stuck in mud holes almost immediately
    – KylieD getting mud roosted by a rider in a whole other group!
    – Jeffro’s pace on the DRZ
    – Changing Eagle’s puncure. Man his seat is soft and his horn is LOUD. The dodgy looking white spider on his boot
    – DanD’s super secret sub-tropical track (my favourtie bit of the day)
    – MrKTM aka Max. He peddles that Kato530 pretty good
    – Enjoying the view at Mt. Sugarloaf lookout
    – Watching the karts at Cameron Park (and one guy ride up the neck of the guy he was trying to overtake)
    – Champo in his element at the MX track.
    – Me trying to see how close to the ground I could get my bars on the MX track. I can get the bars scraping the ground in the big bermed corners pretty good as it turns out…..closely followed by my arse though:laugh:

I look forward to the next one :)

Thanks for a good day guys and girls, the riding was great and so was the company. Can’t wait to do it all again, (especially the secret trail, that was awesome:woohoo: ). Can’t wait to see what pictures or video Dand comes up with:unsure:

Hi Jeffro, I’ve seen most of the footage that DanD shot and there’s a really funny one that I reckon we should post titled ‘Now you see him. Now you don’t. What happened to Moto?’ It’s a shame DanD didn’t catch the fall off though. Also it would have been better if we could have shot the look on DanD’s face when I nearly ran over him. Now that was Priceless.

It was a very enjoyable day and ride. A great group of people and some really good riders. This was my first go at leading a group with more than 3 – 4 riders, by the sounds of it I did an allright job. I can’t take all the credit, me and Champo split the leading throughout the day. It was good to get a crack at leading and also doing a bit of sweeping with Champo, Eagle and Old Al.

I did get some OK footage just got to work out how to edit it a bit (might leave for that for Kylie to do – she’s got plenty of time at the moment. In between test riding bikes and other stuff)

There was a good mixture of terrain and conditions where we were riding, no one had any major issues or stacks. Even with the few misshaps that happened there was always someone there to lend a hand. Thats the Old Bulls spirit.

The secret sub tropical track is a favourite of mine and it is slowly starting to resemble a cut in track. Must not be that secret I suspect.

KylieD has got to learn some trail manners though – you don’t go off at someone for roosting you. I thought she was going to tear him a new arsehole for that effort. Poor bugger wasn’t even riding with us.

Eagle, put a rim lock in the front to stop your valve from getting ripped out and Champo Fortune tyres suck.

Thanks to Champo for posting the ride and look forward to the next one.
