That looks like good value when you look at all the extras with it.

TB: is our measurement of brake horse power the same unit as what the Europeans call HP?

The stock horsepower for a corked XR650R is around 42 horsepower from there you uncork it as the Americans call it and get around 48 to 50hp. Then you can do as my bike has been done and fit a HRC performance kit, head work with standard valves, carb mods etc etc which is good for around 63 hp. It is the torque that makes these bikes excel they can pull the bend out of a river ;)

    More facts here

Europeans dont often use horsepower but normally quote kilowatts, or if they use horsepower it is metric against the Americans with XR’s would be imperial

Yes the last time I had the vortex changed it produced 60 rear wheel hp. Mine has the standard piston in it which is I am told is down around 3 to 4 hp over the HRC piston. Because I dont ride around the same torn up destroyed tracks every ride and ride distances sometimes I cant be sure of the quailty of the fuel around the traps I run the standard piston with the lower compression ratio.

I plan to take it to fatheads soon and make some more changes and will dyno it on his dyno and will video it all for the site ;)
