January 20, 2012 at 8:26 pm #213638I scored a brand new pipe for the Crf on eBay a couple of weeks ago to replace the ugly standard pipe and header.Â
I got the FMF Q4 slip on with the FMF Â powerbomb header.Â
Here’s the standard

This is what it sounds like

The Powerbomb headerÂ

And it sounds like

I have to say I’m really happy with the look and sound of the pipe and it’s given the bike a real boost in bottom end and mid range power with no jetting needed !!!Â

February 7, 2012 at 10:04 pm #214861Today I spoke with Nick at Tekniks Motorsport about my recently resprung shock and forks which have firmed up the Crf and I am now getting my full travel using minimum preload.
During the conversation we got talking about hot cams :woohoo: Nick says a slip on pipe and stage 1 hot cams are the best mods this bike can have.He tested a Crf250x with a 320 big bore kit and Crf250 R cams against a Crf250x with Stage 1 Hot cams and slip on pipe.
The 250 beat the 320 throughout the rev range without compromising engine reliability
So I ordered a set :woohoo:TB will take my bike back from the Dungog AORC sweep weekend ( thanks mate
) back to Sydney for Nick to work his magic !!!February 7, 2012 at 10:55 pm #215753How do you find the power now? Are you chasing extra power cause your missing the 400 or cause its as easy as a cam change? The fmf looks the goods mate.
February 7, 2012 at 11:03 pm #215758just get a 450

The fmf looks the goods mate.I find the power good at the moment Nato and if it wasn’t such an easy mod probably wouldn’t do it , I do like a strong mid range in a bike an the hot cams give plenty of that

Plus who doesn’t like to find more power in their bike !!!!

February 7, 2012 at 11:31 pm #215763I`m confused !!
you bought a 250 now you want to make it more powerful !!
would it not have been better to buy a more powerful, light bike in the first place???February 7, 2012 at 11:35 pm #215764450s are shit loads more nimble than a DR.
And easier to ride up the widow maker.
