Quote:I thought I saw the big Fella down at Crescent Yesterday. Saw a fully loaded black Tenere and was sure it was TB and Salina. Went to say G’day but turned out to be a couple from Queensland.I’ll keep an eye out for them on the return trip. Surely he’s got to take Salina down Plommer road :woohoo: :woohoo:
It’s to nice a day so I’m just about to jump on the NX and head West of Kempsey and then across to the Pub with no Beer.

December 31, 2010 at 10:02 pm #193683Well today is a bigger day we need to be at Sutto Mals tonight at Foster. I have borrowed Nicks airhawk for the boss as the longer in saddle time today will see her wine about a sore bot bot
Just checked the bike over all is good, the big rutted hill that STM sent us down was a cracker  But we handled it Sal never said a word ( I was listening to my I pod ayway  )
There has only been a swollen creek at the back of Dongdingalong the we thought better not to cross mainly because we would get wet, and was dirty smelly water

January 1, 2011 at 12:23 am #193704After a 3 hour single track ride out the back of my place , I called TB and he was already in Grafton. A quick change out of the wet boggy bike gear and I got back on the bike and rode to Lawrence where TB and Salina were already in the pub.
We rode a mix of dirt and tar along the back roads from Lawrence to my house , following the Clarence River.
It didn’t take TB long to sniff out the mini bar and hook into the rums, this secured Salinas position as his driver on new years eve!
We had a good day, swimming ,4wdriving  , taking the p#ss and drinking. In the evening we had a top meal in Yamba, more drinks and back home for some more bike talk, the women loved it !!!
After bacon and eggs for brekky TB loaded the bike ordered Salina to stop socializing and get on the back, and they were off
He wants to make Forster in 4 1/2 hours from Yamba , I said I thought he couldn’t do it that quickly, which means he will no matter what, poor Salina!!
It’s been great to catch up with them both, even though now my wife knows how much I’m going to be spending on my next bike
January 3, 2011 at 9:28 am #193705Here is the Tenere at the Novatel in Coffs (thanks to my travel agent for getting us a room in Coffs in holiday season with 1 days notice)
After there we followed STM’s route through Wedding Bells state forest, this was great as we saw some of the places we rode on the Coffs weekend. All was going well with Scott’s route until I missed a turn and my GPS which was set for Nana Glen took over, all of a sudden we came across this mother of a two uphill. It was rutted and washed out but what the hell we tackled it and stayed wheels down  Scott was surprised we did it
From there we rode in Nana Glen and checked out Rusty’s place  (Russell Crow) that is, well we rode past his place and then found out later he has sold up and moved STM, gone he no longer lives there
We rode into Glenreagh, had a drink Sal shopped and cost me money  Told her all weekend cant shop can’t fit anything onboard
So she bought a ring at a hippie shop because she said she could wear it
Old ute spotted in town at Glenreagh, nice huh
From there we travelled some back roads, a couple of dirt roads and of course the normal great tracks that turn into dead ends 😆
We did a little shopping in Grafton and I spoke with the Mayor as we rode across the bent bridge which was funny. We rode out a little back road to Lawrence to meet Nick at the pub there
After cooling ale we motored onto Nicks thru a series of dirt roads and back roads.
At Nicks we enjoyed a swim, beers, rums the girls chatted, we had a great dinner in town and some laughs.
Next day was a big day we had some boring miles to cover as we promised Mal we would be back on the 1st so we had to motor down the freeway, here we are stopped at Nambucca Heads on the river
Loaded up eh
Left bag weighed 22k, right bag 23k and I didn’t weigh the top roll I forgot
Me waiting to get going as usual
We got back to Mals and then rode into town to meet them all for dinner at a restaurant fully kitted
After dinner Salina was left to get a ride in a car back while I did the beach track from Foster to Red head in the dark on my own (got lost twice  ) it was a great run through the sand in the deep ruts. The bike was awesome in the sand fully loaded which was a good test as I had run the forks through the triple clamps to help it turn in.
After a night at Mals with some massive wicked fireworks which someone let off 😆
Next morning it was up early and down via some back roads and routes to Gosford where we went out on the old mans boat. They have done it up and it’s a cracker, it was great seeing the boat finished and catching up with Dad. From there we snuck down the old Pacific Hwy, it was threatening to rain but it looked like we would get home dry until we head the M7. There the heavens opened, lighting, small hail and sheets of rain. We ploughed on and got home looking like two drowned rats
We covered 1981kms during our week away. Salina was a trooper the whole time and it was awesome to spend the week together on the bike, left me feeling lucky to be able to do it with her. Thanks to all the bulls that we caught up with, cheers guys
TB
January 3, 2011 at 9:58 am #193794It’s awesome to be able to do a trip like that with your missus, they are some big kms in a week and you only got wet twice in the wettest summer in years!! Gold
January 3, 2011 at 10:04 am #193799Great as always to catch up and spend some ride and shed time.
I enjoyed my run to Port Macquarie on the Tenere. I rode heaps ahead of you, as I didn’t want people thinking the dude on the shitty old NX was with me.
I wish Lessa would be as keen as Sal to do a trip on a bike. A lap of town on the Harley or NX does her.
Maybe it is my riding??
