I posted this on another website, but I thought I would share it here on OBT to see how everyone else feels about this shitty topic

This is not related to bikes directly, it is me just having a rant.

I am sick of our baby faced, soft cock PM.

What great news today for all of us smokers. 25% increase in price for our habit

Yeah sure why not just give up, I hear the non smokers say. Yeah sure, why dont you go f#*k yourself instead, did I ask you for the money to buy my smokes, f#*kin NO.

I think that this is the biggest load of shit I have ever heard, raise the price to stop people smoking, yeah whatever, put them in plain packaging, yeah that will f*#kin work too.

Why not just let us who CHOOSE to smoke just f*#kin do it.

Ah yes but the do-gooders will say “what happens when your smoking makes you sick, whos going to pay for that?”

F*#kin me thats who, cause like everyone else I too pay huge amounts of tax on everything. Why not tax bad food highly as well, obviously the obese fat f*#ks of Australia dont get sick from being fat lazy lard arses.

F*#k me I enjoy a beer as well, f*#k whack the tax up on it too, I like to ride my bike too, oh wait I already pay stupid prices for fuel, oh shit yeah it is starting to get colder, I might put the AC on, no wait I cant do that either cause the price of electricity has gone up, I would like to own my house one day, shit cant have that cause the interest rates go up as well. Where does this shit end???????? F*#kin never thats when cause we have incompandent pricks running the country.

Remember when good old Uncle Kev gave us $900 to stimulate the economy, the only thing that stimulated was the sale of plasma TV’s. (No I didnt buy one, I actually used the money to do some work around the house). While the $900 was fun I guess its payback time now.

I am sick of the fuckin government and their stupid fuckin great ideas.

What can I do about it, f*$kin nothing, cause I am just another stupid tax paying prick who has no rights.

End of f*#kin rant, I dont feel any better for it, f*#k me I am going to have a smoke

Anyone know where I can buy some cheap smokes???????????

    Well said Dan :cheer:

i think i will have to start going through my ashtray to find a few cheap smokes.

And the next person who tells me “you know, ther no good for you?”….i will bang a cracker up their dinger and blow em to the moon.

Can’t we just have a peacefull smoke and not have to get a bank loan to buy a few?

Warney for PM :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

    #177275

but you do know, they are no good for yous…dont you??

    i love the three S’s

smoking, scotch and saturated fats

nothing is easy to quit, believe me, i have stopped them all in the last couple of months :S

and the one thing that shits me still is getting off the gaspers!!

it is bloody hard work.

there is no easy way. just about anything can trigger me to want a ciggie.

    drinking is a given
but many other more subtle things, like the smell of grease/oil will have me reaching for my pockets in no time.

getting out of the pool after a swim with chlorine fresh in the lungs is another conundrum i have to deal with

and lets not mention the need for one in the afterglow of sex

i guess a 20+ year habit is hard to kill ;)

look at it from another perspective…(this is what ive been telling myself to help quit the bastards)

    look at it like this…

    average 30 smokes a day

    = 210 per week

    = 840 per month

    = 10,080 per year

    x 23 years = thats231,840 f*#king cigarettes

the average ciggy costs (for winnys) is approx 52c (@ $13 a pack)

    so therefore 231,840 x 52c = $120,556.80

there is half a small house right there

    now lets talk tar…

even the softer smokes contain about 8mG each, so in 231,840 ciggys thats 1855 grams, or 1.855 kilograms of tar ingested in my life :(

fortunately, the human body is great at getting rid of that shit. (well mostly anyway)
unfortunately, the human mind isnt that great when it comes to dispersing habits!!

i bet most smokers wouldnt go handling toxic waste if they were told it will give them cancer…..ciggies are a different story though arent they

next time you cough up some black shit, make sure you swallow it again to keep your uptake healthy

im not really trying to throw a dampener on one of the simple pleasures in life…

hey, smoke away all you like boys

i will be smoking passively right next to you’s ;)

I agree with you on some points Dan but also disagree on others. What they are doesn’t really matter my point is that I recon you shouldn’t be discriminated against for your addiction, if addiction is why you smoke. Heroin addicts and other addicts that can’t afford their drugs of choice stop work to do illeagl acts to support their habits and then the government puts them on a do good program and then gives them free drugs to try and get them to stop using. If people want to stop smoking they have to buy your Nicotene Replacement Therapy with all the taxes the government puts on them, while drug addicts get to break into peoples houses while they working to support their habbits, while addicts get theirs for free. IT PISSES ME OFF. I don’t like smoking but I HATE the fact that some polly is telling everyone what they can and can’t do and not treating every Aussie as an equal.

    #177278

    damn right Fez,

its the 3 rules of being a polly

    money talks…..bullshit walks…..and f*#k everybody else

    f*#king spin-sters

i as a non smoker have absolutely know idea what you fellas will be going through!

as someone said though, they jamb the tax up on ciggs, but will they lessen the tax on the products like the patches for those that want to have a crack at quitting are not forking out just as much as smoking anyway? Nooo.

the new tax has nothing to do with the health of the public! it only has to do with the health of the polly’s pocket.

and don’t get me started on the ciggy’s manufacturers. in one study in the states they increased the nicotine content to a level where it makes it that much harder for smokers to quit, and that 1st time smokers get enough of it from 1 cigg. to get hooked.

Hey Dan, maybe you could look into seeing if you can get some seed?? :pinch:

it is just as illegal to grow tobacco as it is to grow marijuana.

both are classed as a prohibited substance i think.

they sewed that loophole up many years ago

    the pricks

if you want to grow it in vic, you have to get permission, from guess who….

    the australian taxation office

    ironic, isnt it

Only reason they increased this tax is to pay for all their recent f*ck up’s, only way they can get extra money without most of the population getting the sh*t’s, I am sick of Rudd and his red head side kick, wish we had some leaders with true back bones.

I reckon it is about the money. The last time they raised the tax I’m sure you had a lot of people quit bringing the overall tax revenue down so now to get it back to where it was they increase it again. I believe it is just about keeping the same steady tax revenue. If they really believed it was as dangerous as they claim they would outlaw it all together but they will never outlaw it because the tax revenue is too much.

    Cheers…
    Chris………..

All i wanted to say at this point is I DID NOT VOTE FOR THE F*#KER and if you did then shut the f*#k up you should have seen it coming.

I’m not a smoker but if you want to smoke it is your right.
