Ha the first bloke on the list is from Wauchope and doesn’t even own a bike. Might have something to do with him being the leader of the National party.

YES!! If you think paying over $400 for CTP for a dirt bike that does bugger all “black top” is totally wrong then you should put your name down.

July 27, 2010 at 10:42 pm #184802I don’t see what the problem is, my price went down and now i’m thinking of buying a 600 road bike to ride to work
If I had a big bike I would be pissed off I suppose

July 28, 2010 at 12:21 am #184815I think its about time cyclists who ride on the roads have to pay for rego as well
July 28, 2010 at 12:32 am #184783trail bike rego in nsw is a complete joke any way, coming from vic with rec reg for less than $50 a year to paying full rego prices to only ride in the scrub is a joke,
Its about time they caught up with victoria on this oneJuly 28, 2010 at 1:19 am #184823I think you will find under the new regulations most dirt bikes get a drop in premiums, it’s only those between 225cc and 300cc that go up. With the biggest selling dirtbikes being in the 450cc range it’s good for most of us.
If you were paying over $400 for your greenslip you were getting ripped off and should have shopped around more. My last rego under the old pricing was $360, Thats for inner metro, those in outer metro or country should be cheaper again. Next year my greenslip will be even cheaper. Why would I or the majority of over 300cc riders sign such a petition.
I personally think the new system makes more sense than the old one. Under the old system a KTM/Husky,TM/Gas Gas 300cc 2T was cheaper to rego than a DRZ/XR 400 yet a crotch rocket such as R1/GSX1000 and the like where similar price to 400/450cc 4T. The new system is better scaled.
As for rec rego thats a whole other argument, for me I would still get full rego anyway. I like to be able to ride my bike anywhere any time.

July 28, 2010 at 1:56 am #184826yeh but for how much longer?
$400 was just a guess,sorry it was only $360
I to would like to be able to ride anywhere and I honestly dont think rec rego is the answer.Qld system is the better option ATM ie solo type of bike (most trailbikes)cheaper rego.
The whole CTP business is a scam/rort by the RTA and insurance companies since the inception of privatisation. Why would a dirt bike that statisically would have F@#k all claims made against the CTP be lumbered with the same costs as the loonies racing around on their Vespa’s or the Boy racer GSXR/ZX6/R6/CBR crowd
When was the last time someone put a claim in against your CTP?Im not having this rant because my rego is costs are going up I am thinking of the greater cause. NSW motorist are sick of having to bend over and take it from the authorities.
End of rant
