    Hi All
Here’s the deal. It’s time for a commitment.
The time for maybe’s & I’m keen are over, we need solid commitment. If you are unsure, you need to decide quick or miss out. If you know someone who is on the interested list that may not visit the site all that often, tell them to get it sorted or they may miss out.

The date has been set for the 20-21st November 2010 (Now a 2 day ride)

Our tour leader will be Lyndon Heffernan (he also supplies sweeps)
Turn up with a full tank of fuel and after that all meals, fuel and accomodation is part of the tour (included in price)

We will be leaving Tom Groggan Station around 8am sat morn and returning sometime sunday pm

The cost will be around $495.00

I’m sure there will be a few of us who will travel down there fri and need accomodation that night, I will work on that and get back to you all (this will be on you and not part of the ride cost)

This is some great off road riding with Hills, Rocks, creek crossings etc etc, I did one of these rides a couple years back, which is where i met KING CRASH and found out about this site (we had a great weekend)

Once Heffo sorts out the accomodation, there will be more info forth coming.

The ride will be capped at 25 RIDERS so it will be first in best dressed (sorry to be blunt but thats the way it is)

Once Heffo forwards the forms I will post up on here and it will be up to you to pay the deposit direct to Heffo (direct Deposit). He will be given a cut off date for deposits to keep it fair for all, If your deposit is not paid by then you miss out. No excuses – never ever

Once that deposit is rec’d by him, he will forward all other info direct to you.

There will be a list in the events /rides forum which will be locked but you will be able to see if you are one of the lucky ones in on this ride ;) ;)

You need to reply to me PM and you will be added to the list here riders list

    Thats all for now

    cheers Hatto

    Hi All
I need some feedback here guy/gals about this ride.(now before anyone takes offence, I am just after feedback/answers)

I’m having a hard time with this situation

We have posted up a ride for the high country looking for expressions of interest, we get alot of positive feedback with 35-40 replies (count me in/extremely keen)

So we organise it, and now we only have 13 replies total(both for and against)so I am trying to find out why.

Is it the distance that you have to travel for the ride ???

Is it the cost of the ride ???

Is it the weekend availability ???

Is it because it’s a tour company (or specific tour company)???

We want some discussion on this, because if we don’t know the reasons behind, than we can’t address in the future.

A lot of time and effort goes into organising these things, and on this one we have tentative bookings for accom, meals etc, because we thought we would easily get the numbers based on the responses received, now it looks like it’s not going to happen and I hate leading people along and then cancelling out.

So please tell me your thoughts(good bad whatever) again it’s not having a go at anybody, we just don’t want to make the same mistakes when organising again in the future.

    Don’t be shy, be truthful

    cheers hatto

    Hi Hatto,

For me it was about too much happening at that time.. Cameron’s Corner trip will cost me a fair amount of coin and the wife just wouldn’t let me do both..

I really want to do it, however “The Minister of Finance” won’t allow it..

$495 I reckon is good value and would be surprised if anyone complains about that..

    Cheers…

Thanks for input Krusty, I don’t care if someone complains about the price,if that is what has swayed there decision, fine/great at least it helps in the future ride planing. I am just trying to gain info so we can better plan in the future

    Hi Hatto

I have already pm’ed you with my reason but So others know:
I would still be in had it been 3 full days of riding , the cost was not a problem and the fact it’s a tour company makes no difference to me.

I would spend a lot longer driving than riding and that’s not the right way round in my book.
If a longer ride came up in the high country I would be very interested as I dought I would get the
    chance other than with obt.
I didn’t back out of this one easily and was gutted once I did.
Hope the ride still goes ahead I’m sure it will be awesome

Please don’t take this the wrong way Nick, It is not a witch hunt, I am just trying to gather reasons for the future ride organising eg If cost is the issue(Than we wouldn’t organise a ride like this), If distance is an issue (than we wouldn’t organise a ride so far away) etc etc
    thanks for the reply

I didn’t take it the wrong way at all Hatto
I fully understand it must be hard to plan this type of ride and feedback is essential to make it easier the next time you organize a trip.
I just wanted you to know my reasons as part of your feedback mate! B)

    Hi Hatto,

I’ve looked at this ride many times and gave it a lot of thought as am always keen to ride, especially somewhere new, and would have been a good chance to meet some Old Bulls.

Ultimately the decision was not to go though which was largely made on the basis of the cost and duration. I just felt that the cost was a bit high for 2 days riding and 1 nights accommodation. Especially when there would be two of us going. I notice that it can now include the Friday night accommodation which is a great idea. Unfortunately not enough to change the situation for us though, $1000 for a weekend – just too much I’m afraid.

I know only too well how challengning it is to organise things, especially something of this magnitude, and to get people to commit so thank you for the effort you’ve obviously put in and I hope that it still goes ahead. When I read all the stories that will come out of it I know I’ll be wishing we’d been there.

Hi Cathi, thanks for the reply, thats another reply for the cost issue. I enjoy organising rides (or trying to help out others organising them)but this info is very helpful for next time. I’m not in it for praise, I do it because I love to go riding with different people and different places, but as I said it’s no good me organising rides if the people I like to ride with can’t go. For instance, If the feed back tells me that people only want to ride 1 day, not cost to much, and is close to home, than I will organise that type of ride

    cheers and thanks

    hatto
