About a month ago Nundle had large dumps of snow, a massive windstorm and then more rain and wind over the last fortnight. The result is trail carnage , very few trails not covered in trees branches and mud. Today’s ride was designed to see how bad the western and southern parts were, we had already seen how bad the rest was a few weeks ago. To give an idea it took two hours to do 15 km early in the day and trails normally raced along were all but impassable. The damage is significant and some trails may remain unrideable for a long time to come.
A few murph clearing parties are now in plan for the singles and hopefully the forestry people may attacking the main trails in the meantime.
Still a day on the bike beats a day at work hands down so it was still a great day.
