IF you read your phone messages you’d know I booked one for you and you just had to pay the deposit on it. I just figured that was the one you were talking about oh vague one

Yes I’m alive and as well as any sick puppy.
I’ve been all over the north and west of aus for work. It’s been months since I’ve been home, let alone ridden. It was the break I needed.

Travelling around and destroying hire cars and shit

    I will be there diggers

Damus and I spent the day up in the forest today cutting in the final linkup singles. Cant wait to ride them next weekend as we cut them in on foot due to the need for much chainsawing, needless to say i’ll sleep well tonight. One trail is a flat windy section that should be a quick paced ride for all and is the final link between existing singles and leech valley which we cut in a month or so ago. This trail will feature the enduro cross special test section that will be set up for the August ride. The second is damiens root trail (no not because of that its just that it features a technical uphill with an off camber tree root at the worst part of the hill which he didnt have a good relationship with when we found the trail).

While its not long it will cause some shit if its wet because of its grassy off camber climb that just keeps going. It joins lake Bollocks road to the airstrip and contains a cranky sow and her ten or so piglets, thankfully the father wasnt home as my labrador certainly was no pig dog.(it was like go catch em yourself if your so keen Im going back to the ute).

We have included a 1.5 km adventure ride in the mid part of the loop to give everyone a rest, although if Damus gets his way even this will be replaced by a single trail before the August ride. The legs were not up to the hill climb it involves and by the time we got to it the chainsaws were getting to bloody heavy to do more.

The singles loop is not going to be an easy ride, not because its riddiculously long or Murphsburg in nature, but because it never really gives you much of a rest and it is very technical. Im looking forward to seeing Mick punt the big pig through it and if he makes it he will certainly have earnt his beer.
