Gotta love it when you hunt down a 250 and realise that everytime they are hitting full throttle, we are doing about 2 thirds. Thus a big bore bike does not wear like a smaller one. Thus, the reason I keep going back to the 510. It might be heavy, might have too much torque/pull your arms out by the end of the day,HEY. But I love them. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Cheers
Murph
P.S. Still dreaming of a 300 though.    :pinch:Yeah gotta love the pull
Though I kept getting hunted down by a maniac on a 570

Cant really tell too much what happened from the vid but basically it was the erosion mound before the last one that caused the problem. Just got too much air and spooked myself. Hit the last one trying to slow down instead of setting myself up for the lip. …… moral of the story is slow down :blink:Great pics and post mate
Great vids Andy 1st 1 the single looked choice.. :cheer:
Mr Squiggle I cant help myself but u broke a law of erosion mounds and thats
‘No matter the speed u hit it You ‘Must’ accelerate just before the lip”

September 5, 2013 at 8:31 am #248906Well its a bit late for my little ride report but here it is. First up no pics but the rest of you seem to have gone to the next level with helmet cams. Have already put the order in for Christmas. Well for a start it was looking a little suspect as to weather I would be riding my own bike but a last minute flurry by Jed at bikes and bits got it going. Buzz had already given me the nod to ride one of his bikes if my own fell through. That’s the Old Bull spirit right there
What a bloody legend thanks mate. I took the Newly modded 300 For a goon ride out the back of the shop and first impressions were good. Friday morning came and me and Buzz loaded all the stuff up and headed off. We settled in and said hello’s And soon we were tasting the trails it was bloody dusty. The bike was not running right down low but up top it was fine. So I just rode it like a 250 and all was good. The singles were choice under the cover of the trees. The highlight for the day was sweet mother or rutzilla. I thought I would get into the swing of things early and jump into a rut before the main climb had even started….. Yes it was a terminating rut so the hill kicked me in the nuts straight up cold. I gumbied my way to the top but it was fun.
The Friday ring of knowledge was hash on me to say the least. All was going well until Bollocks had some Canadian Club cans that apparently would go off if not drunk that night. Well that is where the memory of the night finishes. The next day was a bitch and I was very second hand for at least half the ride.
I don’t know if I was delirious or not but I kept seeing little animals in the trees. 😆 It was great having the adventure Nissan with Boll and Snow following us around. And I don’t know if anybody noticed but Snowy had a new piss funny t shirt on every day Where do you find that stuff
The feed at the Berry patch was spot on and made me feel human again thanks. The Back creek and Snowball area were my favourite of the second day. The western boundary downhill was the heart starter for the whole weekend too what a blast. I had to miss the Saturday night shenanigans for family commitments but as already stated this will be the last time that will happen because of the date change next year.My Sunday started with an hour drive and a quick dash to see if I could fix the bumbling quarter throttle response from the CRF. I raised the needle clip but it made virtually no difference.
After speaking to the brains of the outfit Adam he gave me some great advice on where the issue would be.
It was sweeping duties for me Sunday and thanks to mal5.1 I was set free from the dust for a fair old stint which I was very grateful for. The highlight for me was the Erzberg hill at the end which was great to have a stab at. The fact that Sam and Mal5.1 were cruising around on it like it was nothing spurred me into it. Next time you guys will know that when I am on a hill its probably a good idea to turn on the go pro as I ran out of talent right at their feet.  On the way down Buzz and I had a go on the big black dyno and found that the 300 performed better at the low RPM area but not a lot better up top. From there it was goodbye kisses with just a few tears and we were on our way home.
Thankyou to all the Leaders and Sweeps and to Snowy and Boll for the support in the Nissan. The work you guys put into the trails is incredible we are lucky to have you guys on board.
Thanks again to all the people who travel huge distances to go on this ride like Menace who does 1000 each way and some of it with LC……. Champion :silly: . That is a long way mate and its great to have blokes like you making the weekend a success. Thankyou also to the guys posting up helmet cam footage. The editing and upload time is long but its so worth it
The second Page of this report is so large my iphone crashes when I open it so it must be good. Next year I will have some video footage to add myself or I will punch Santa in the head. :silly:

September 7, 2013 at 4:04 am #248908I just sent the wife off to Sydney in the plane and the daughter is having a sleep :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
so I thought now that I have five minutes to me self I would build up the courage to look at the air cleaner. after mounting bollocks
first things first and to get the priorities right it was of to get a cold stubbie then to look at the rotten mess
this is a brand new filter from a day and a half of riding dusty trails
and the box wasn’t any better how did you all go after mounting bollocks?
andy
September 7, 2013 at 4:21 am #249391Thats not too bad.
I had to pull my bike to pieces to get the fuel filters out of the fuel tank and get the throttle body off so I could get the injector cleaned.
ps. I am still blaming your dodgy Tamworth fuel Andy
Its got nothing to do with the bike having 350hrs on it and never changing the fuel filters  Plus a new front guard!
At least I got to give Menaces bike a flogging on the Sunday.
