Another great day in the Nundle hills. Twelve riders including 4 newbies joined us for a cracker day of 100+ km of perfect conditions as we ran most of our favorite trails in reverse including riding up Parachute Hill instead of goind down (much easier going up). Thankfully this week no riders ended up in hospital and no broken bikes apart from another unreliable Kato that had electrical problems all day and two other katos with flats. Light rain had made the tracks super tacky with the odd slipperry section but it all made for some great racing in the mid pack Sadly Boonys still in love with his new toy as it did all he wanted and more all day. Thanks to alll the boys for another great day but particularly to House Boony and Damo for some great racing that really made the day so good. Shame we have to go to work in the morning as Id rather turn round and go straight back up again.

Sympathy to Polly who missed out on a frkn ripper ride because the forecast was originally for 30+mm but there ended up being bugger all. Now house some videos please

Good one Snowy, you boys seem to be getting out a fair bit. I got all keen yesterday, but I couldn’t find anyone keen, not even Connor could be enticed out in the rain.

The heading of this thread sums it up in one, I have never seen the trails in such perfect condition, .
This ride came about from a mate wanting me to lead a ride for a couple of his friends, I said i would and i would organize a couple of other riders to make it interesting. The text went out and I asked Snowy to contact whanny as I have somehow lost his number. 12 riders met at our meeting place and once again we headed for them there hills. Bikes unloaded , corner man system explained to the 4 guys that we havent ridden with before and because Snow and i had decided to see what the ride would be like if we done the whole thing in reverse snowy lead out towards what is known as snowys trails. These trails are mainly native fire trails of red caly and rock, I normally dislike this section because I always seem to have to man handle the DRZ to stop it from throwing me. This trip was totally different, the little 250 handle the trails like they were a tared road, I could not believe the difference . Snow and I had a play in the first singles then one of 550 ktms had elect trouble, turned out a roo had jumped off the mound on the side of the road and actually hit the bikes head light assembly and in turn it smashed the wire connectors behind the shroud causing intermittent starting problems for the rest of the day. We got to the native single and these were in the most awesome condition, hooky with enough slip to back into corners and then let you drive it hard out again, ( yes woody material). I lead from the swampy padock into the berry patch and these trails were also in the best condition we had seen them for quite some time. Lunch and fuel and Buzz donned the vest and started to lead us out, Damien and I were on a corner heading to the wiers when we were told that there was bike with a flat back up the hill and they didnt have levers, we did so off we went back up, god them 250s can go like a scaulded cat up hill.Flat fixed and then along the creek we went, for the first time i was hitting the creek crossings standing up and at some pace, the kato was so easy to ride through them it was ridiculous. We had a plan to send 2 experienced riders up parachute as lead sweeps, they would park at spots that may cause grief and then snow damus and me would sweep from the rear. Minimal carnage, Billy and buzz were the only casualties of the upward running of parachute. When we all got to the top there was four of us parked side by side, Snow (400) House (450) damien (450) and me (250). we all looked at the others and they all had their tongues hanging out but we 4 were bitting at the bit because we knew what was ahead for the next 20ks. it was some of the best riding i have ever had the pleasure of being involved in, we were like a squadron of fighter planes, overtaking at every possible chance , rounding up the lead riders and then all being on the next corner. All i can say here is GO THE 250.
Once we had done a few more pine singles there was a call made to skip a small section and main road it to wombat then we headed for the cars and more important the dungowen pub.

    In summary

that was the best ride I have ever had in them there hills, good company, no real issue, no hospital trips and the 250 was on song all bloody day..
Our next ride is gunna be a ripper, but its not in them there hills?

    In forgot
Thank you to our super sweep Demus, mate you are a legend.

We passed 2 turn offs to nundle on the way home , had 2 bikes, petrol and thought we had some left in our own energy reserves …. but it was too late in the day and realistically only thought we wanted to ride and it started to rain

    next time B)
