November 2, 2011 at 9:21 pm #211207Looks like Damus had his hands full a few times there
November 3, 2011 at 2:37 pm #211208I must also thank Lotsa
He showed me a different way to change a flat, not sure if its quicker though.
Yes I got a front pinch flat straight after lunch at the Berry Patch.
Another thanks to Sam
He had a spare front tube as mine was gone with the Dude.
Dude carrys the front and I carry the rear tube. Usually works except when we get split up.
Thanks to all for organising the weekend and even though its not my sort of riding I had a ball.
Cheers
MurphNovember 4, 2011 at 12:13 am #211113EAGS` Final Leg
So after we had a feed at Hungry Jacks (that took forever to get I might add) :S  we hightailed it over to Jerrys Plains to fuel for the final run to the Putty. Lefty filled the fuel bladder this time as they planned a run for the Blue Mountains from here and it was gonna be a lte one getting home as it was.
Out to Apple Tree Flat where we had a little detour finding the way, a quick call to MickP regarding access through the gate on the top end. There is some 400m of Private Property to go thru to access the way to the Commission Rd and onto the Putty Rd.Here is where it became a tad dusty at the back of the pack of 5 and I dropped back behind Deano`s dust trail , my eyes were already starting to get tired & sore from the ride & dust getting thru the goggles, so it was a daunting run on some of the trails with deep sandy corners, loose rocky bits & the setting sun filtering thru the trees right into my eyes at times
We had a couple of small backtracks in this section also and got turned around twice on dead ends, but eventually we wound our way onto the Commission Loop.
Plenty of ups & downs, twists & turns on this one and it is still in pretty good nick considering the traffic it had had from bikes the past few months,,,Eventually we popped put on Putty Rd, about 6k short of the entry to Yengo which was the way home fr me & Deano. We said our quick goodbyes to TB, Deej & the Left One but decided to fang it up the Putty to Milbrodale and around to Cessnock to fuel up ratherthan take on the Kangawallafoxes on Yengo and the Watagan Valley (It was already 6pm when we hit the Putty & Dean was keen to get off the dirt)
So we did just that, and I realise halfway round that my headlight was blown :pinch: (most likely from the vibrations of the past 1000k) It was a rather sketchy run to Mulbring & over Sugarloaf till I got some relief from Streetlights in Edgeworth for the run home, arriving just before 8pm (had left Nundle at 9am sharp & rarely stopped all day)That`s it, trip done, what a hoot and an eye opener for me. Didn`t realise I had the legs just yet for such an adventure Big Thanx to TB, Deejay & Lefty for dragging us along.
The 690 performed extremely well & proved to be very comfortable with the aid of MickP`s Airhawk seat (gotta get me one of those)Cheers

Bol :woohoo:May 22, 2012 at 2:56 pm #222302Nice one Bol!
That was a great ride and a great cause.
The efforts you have made running the auctions is massive and without you we would have raised a lot less money on all our major rides.
Big pat on the back for you mate.STM
May 22, 2012 at 8:35 pm #211117Yeah Ditto from me
Great work Boll on the auction stuff, funny stuff and only you could pull it off :laugh:Get your lungs primed for the Birthday Auction mate, you will have your work cut out for sure , tonnes of stuff to auction
It`s always good to hear from the charities that benefit from our rides like that, all worthy causes they are and it`s great to hear some appreciation back for sure
Cheers Mate
