Last weekend was the last round for the OBMCC. It was held at Clearview near Wallerawang and was two days of racing.
OBT was well represented with LC4skin, Bob, Medogrocket, KTM_rules, myself and probably other members I don’t know.
Saturday started with 3 (individually timed) laps of an awesome enduro X track built by KTM_rules (who has watched and riden way to many of these tracks). Then after about an hour rest we head out for a 2 hour cross country where I promptly ran out of fuel halfway thought the last lap. My fault, I didn’t bring enough to the event. I thought 14L would see me through easy. The cross country was a fast open horse power track that got pretty dusty with rocks coming up through the dirt. All this on newly re-sprung and re-valved suspension installed at 8pm the night before. :woohoo:
I bent my rear brake pedal out on the endure X track and didn’t realise until the first corner of the cross country that it was hitting the foot peg and I had no rear brake for the next 2 hours. I kept smashing it down and got a small amount of pedal back.
Sunday was a great grass track with 4 lap heats to start with then back to 3 laps and reduced heats due to a few crashes that required the ambos.
All up a great weekend. I didn’t place anywhere as I’m not much of a racer. I just hang in the middle of the pack and have fun with someone my pace. BOB on the other hand has found his calling, the man is an animal on the track. I think he was 4th or 5th in class for the cross country and he bagged 3rd for the grass track and a medal at his first OBMCC race. :woohoo:
I’ll let the other guys tell there stories.
I have a bit of helmet cam footage to upload. Three of us had cameras on so there should be a bit of action to watch.
Bob getting his medal.

are you thanking your mum
November 12, 2012 at 10:12 am #232405Yes was a good weekend
( apart from asking Mal what was going on every 5 seconds as I had no idea )Wish I started racing years ago , its a bit dumb to start your first race at the last race of the season
Was very nervous before the start of every race ,(shitting myself really) but didn’t fall off all weekend so i obviously wasn’t trying hard enough  . (Apart from my parking incident on top of some daunting tyres)
Enduro x was excellent well done Mr rules , I didn’t like those tyres standing up at all but the rest was good.
My god the pros don’t hold back do they.
Enduro was a ripper it was neck and neck Between Mal,Medogrocket ,and myself for the whole race (up until someone ran out of fuel)
I’m looking forward to some more enduro duels in the future , awesome funMDR was styling a new type of helmet without a visor , quite a flattering look I reckon , however I think he started the race with one  .
Lc had to race with the wipper snappers all weekend but held his own and managed to be the fastest of our group in all events (not sure about endurox)?, not by much though
9 seconds for the grass track for the day and a bit on the enduro…………………………………But I reckon I can round him up 👿 ( I have a chest infection and it was hampering my ability a little  )Mdr pulled a heart muscle and withdrew from the event on Sunday, but made up for it as our pit bitch and cheer squad
Grass track was just as daunting for me as i don’t intentionally corner at speed very well and it was a steep learning curve, but i loved it . The dust was phenominal by the end of the day but just added to the adrenalin , like riding with your eyes shut :woohoo:
There is always someone faster , but there is always someone to duel with as well
I have sent my membership to the holeshot/start king and hoping for some coaching in the future (Cheque is in the mail Mal)
Great weekend thanks to Everyone
Menace your a Tool
I was actually thanking the club for accepting my membership applicationYou can FForward about 2 min on one and maybe a minute on the other (U work it out)
Endo x tommorow if i remmember
November 12, 2012 at 11:17 am #232406Awesome event.
Loved the EnduroX, I started walking around it but I was psyching myself out so I decided to just attack it and see what happens. It didn’t help that it was my first event for the day and the 3 stooges (Bob, Mal, Timmy) were watching and laughing at me. On the practice lap I had a massive near over the bars moment in the tractor tyres and I didn’t jump the loading ramp at the end (pussy). In my 3 race laps I didn’t stack or stall once and jumped the loading ramp everytime except when there was someone laying down there with a broken wrist. 3rd in class, but no medals for that event.
Cross Country course was fast and dusty, had 2 relatively good offs twisting my bars up but luckily there was a tree near by both times so I could bash them straight. Off camber corners suck balls. 2hrs is a long time!
Grass track was heaps of fun once the first couple of corner carnage died down and you could see through the dust. Got to practice my starts too.
It seems the rougher and more technical the course the better I go, did my best in EnduroX, pretty good in the cross country, and not too bad in the grass track.
I wish I was an old bastard (over35) then I could have knocked Bob off the podium. Even though we weren’t racing each other there is plenty of bench racing over the time sheets, if we were racing each other we would probably both go better or both kill ourselves!
Thanks heaps to Mal and Donna for putting us up for the night and Timmy for some pro tips about the grass track racing and a beer at the end to wash the dust down. I have gone out in sympathy for you Tim, I was hobbling around all day at work with a bung knee.

November 13, 2012 at 9:46 am #232458Nope
Its better with the sound of the bike and the swearing, grunting, huffing and puffing, that made me laugh. The gay symphony is a nice touch though, it matches your riding style.
November 13, 2012 at 9:59 am #232408It not working so you have to put up with it
November 13, 2012 at 10:02 am #232465You smashed the rest of the course and stuffed up one of the easiest obstacles :silly:
Pity we have to wait until next year for the next race.
November 13, 2012 at 10:38 am #232409Congrats everyone, special mention to you Bob on a 3rd and LC for being quicker  Bob you did smash the rest of the Xtreme after the big tyres

November 13, 2012 at 11:12 am #232475:laugh:  “F#$KING!!! tyres” crack up.
We were feeling your pain watching you Bob. Good to hear you were breathing afterwards.
You nailed the rest of the track.
The most daunting for me was those slippery poly pipes.
November 14, 2012 at 5:08 am #232477Top effort guys, looks like you all killed it! I laughed my ass off at Bob on the tyres, what happened, did your bashie get caught and the bike not want to start? Sweet looking loop, though, you smashed the rest of it.
Makes me wanna come and have a go now! I know I said no when you PM’d me but you didn’t say you were racing EnduroX.
I might have to wait until until May 2014 when I turn 35 though……or get forged ID
