Actually, my bike has been out of the shed every day this week  :cheer:Just got home from a pissup after work and got to check out Todd Smith`s 2nd place outright in 2010 Safari`s CPW 530 , It finished this years event as well with Troy O`Connor at the helm
Have a good ride, I will sit home in the shed
 (Nah, some of us actually have to go to work)
And oh Yeah,,,, Merry Chrstmas to you too

December 23, 2011 at 12:44 am #213597That KTM didn’t complete the full Safari, Troy started on a 450 & swapped to the 530/70 (think it blew an engine as well), he rode the 30k road section at the end of the day to Laverton with me when my mousse failed, saying he wouldn’t let me get another penalty.
He had his share of his own penaties. That 530/70 leaked oil like a sieve.
December 23, 2011 at 8:57 am #212875Yeah, that`s true SB
Troy told me all about the 450 and Grabbos woes too
Was still cool for me to check out the bike in the flesh and hear of his plans for the Dubai Desert race coming up & Dakar 2013Sorry for the thread hijack High Country dudes,,,,,,
January 8, 2012 at 1:00 pm #213610Well some pre running has been completed and the route is almost down pat. Bike prep will be finished after I escort Eags and his merry bunch to their camping site this saturday
If you are going please read the first post. This is now a full navigation ride meaning you will have the route loaded on your GPS and be following that with your ride buddy. If you dont own a GPS I will pair you up with someone who does so you will need to trust them or borrow a GPS so as to follow the little blue line  . The reason for the switch to a navigation ride is to reduce the need to sit in others dust, reduce corner wait times and a good practice for the APC, Condo or Safari should you ever do any of those events.

January 15, 2012 at 1:16 am #212876Those going with GPS’s that are going on this ride can you please contact me so I can arrange to either send you the route file or alternatively I can get access to your GPS so as to load the route before the ride start Tuesday week

January 15, 2012 at 9:25 am #214502I went right over my Tenere on Friday to prepare for this ride , I fitted a new front tyre , wired in my new Zumo gps ( Xmas present
), gave it a full service and checked for loose nuts and bolts. I was amazed how many loose ones I found and it was very random which ones were loose !!
I have managed to stash a heap of spares under the seat including a full set of wheel bearing , seals , brake pads ( front and rear ) , gear lever , clutch lever , brake lever , 5 Pre- oiled filter skins and a pre-oiled uni filter inner.
TB gave me the heads up on a guy that shorted out his battery by having levers under the seat so I’ve wrapped then up an securely cable tyed them in place.
I’ve managed to down size my load so much so I can now wear my body armor and a jersey and fit my Klim jacket in one of the side panniers if it’s really hot. The bike feels much lighter now and should be a heap of fun and more manageable in the harder sections
Can we go now !!!!! :woohoo:

January 17, 2012 at 11:40 am #214510Hey Gent’s,
Unfortunately I am going to have to withdraw from this ride.I was so wanting to go as I know that these rides are so much fun and seeing various parts of Aus by bike is awesome. However after a lengthy xmas break I must get back to work. I wish everyone a great and safe ride and i am sure it will be awesome. I hope to get back on another ride soon.
Cheers,
