AnonymousThe bling BMW’s like the one pictured above look awesome, I wonder why the prodcution ones look boring? I like the new BMW’s but think they look plain.
Poor show for any of the main manufacturers not to turn up though.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess.
I rather like the original graphics because they aren’t too bright or ‘in your face’.The one pictured above does look good though.

it occured to me last night that i forgot to add an ‘R’ to that CRF. not that CRFX’s are bad, that just havn’t dominated like CRFR’s
i think that people believe that they must have water cooling and electric start to go trail riding

Look here; http://www.speedbrain.de/i think that the shapes are a little too ‘BMW’. i agree with you on the simple graphics though. many graphics (and riding gear) are a little too ‘look at me’ ‘yea we are. did someone spew on your bike and you cleared over it?’
February 23, 2009 at 8:50 pm #123540You are a wise man Champo, but it is those ‘shapes’ that make it a real BMW.
Kind of like a footy clubs mascot if you know what I mean.I always thought BMW’s looked wierd but there’s something about them that cannot be explained until you own one, and it’s a good thing too

True true, I think your BMW is sweet. BMW in the case of your model resisted the temptation to do something radical (for the rest of the world, traditional for BMW) with the lines. Other than the long side covers (that protect the muffler from scratches) and the headlight (that supports the front guard), the rest is sweet.
Saying that, my model tm has butt ugly side covers and headlight
I met a guy in bello with an early nineties GS1000. it was like BMW got all the most random ugly bits of bike possible and assembled them in his bike. It was still way cool though
I once had KDX200 that I removed all the stickers and put a green seat cover on it. This was back in the early 90’s when people wore really bright fluoro colours and bike companies competed on who could put the biggest splat on the shrouds (an tms were fluoro pink).
I am hoping we can move away from the black stuff with skulls and Germanic text though. You know that metal mulisha stuff

Look here; http://www.speedbrain.de/It sure is mate. I think the bike in the link looks awesome with that factory replica kit. If/when I changed bike I would seriously consider the Beemer, I just don’t think it could surpass my love for the new Berg though.
I like the way both bikes have done something different. I particularly like the technology behind the swingarm on the BMW.
