After an early morning training ride with Medogrocket for the up coming A4DE, I went home and swap bikes to the dual sport and met up with TB at Mt Victoria Pub. We had a so so lunch and drinks that must have had gold flakes in them somewhere  . There was a bit of light rain around which made the tracks and tar a tad slippery.
We headed to Bell/Clarance via some nice open dirt tracks and then started looking around for a good spot to park to cars for the Birthday ride. We found a couple of suitable sites and then went off in search for some tracks to link up and mark out kms for the dual sporters. We went down just about every track we found to see where there go. Some we dead ends and some I would take my bike through. TB was tyring to emmulate the NX Camel Safri team that was posted somewhere and took his NX into spots the XR would be more suited to.
All in all we did a few kms around the area and have the start of the ride pretty sorted and we were done by 2:30pm. So we headed to a Pub in Blackheath for a beer and a debrief.
TB will remember more about the ride and hang shit on my bike and riding skills probably.
TB with a not so good line choice
TB parks the NX for a rest
there are a couple of vids coming.

I told you I could ride the wheels off it.April 1, 2010 at 4:04 am #175132I was staying at Mt Vic for work a few years ago and the pub was a rip off back then too. By the time you paid for a taxi to Blackheath and back it was still a much cheaper night out than drinking at Mt Vic. Its funny how some things never change.
It looks a bit wet in the pics. Mal do you have knobbies on the BMW or road slicks?

Yep it’s hard to get drunk there LC.
I still have the original open tread road tyres on it. They’re good for Donna and I two up and crusing around but chasing TB through the bush is not one of thier strong points.

No chance of me going through the quick sand. I knew where the track would end up. And why take my (sorry Donnas) nice shiny bike up that cliff face when there is a perfectly good track around it.
Videos finished uploading 2 min ago, so stop ya bitching. I don’y want to hear any of this whinning next week young man… 😆
African quick sand (TBs words not mine)
