June 20, 2010 at 2:40 pm #182161round eyed devils, the lot of ya
my old bulls in sydney weekend was certainly an eye opening, whirlwind of a ride.
my weekend in a big nutshell…
good flight up, no dramas, nice hotel room.
hit china town for a feed and look. it was pretty quiet for a friday afternoon i thought, well compared to melbourne chinatown on a friday anyway?.
had a suss of paddys market and walked around the city a bit…
its just like melbourne in a way. it smells the same anyway.
and it has its fair share of wacky dudes and trippers too  :laugh:on my way back and in need of a feed, the smell of china town was overwhelming. i looked at a myriad of restaurants, i wandered into the place that had the most asian people in it
my theory is if they eat it its good…and it turned out a winner, i had a magnificent feed.
as i was pigging out with a few beers, dudes from everywhere just starting going nuts and setting up market stalls and big arse bbq’s in the street. during the hour i sat there, the street transformed into a bustling madhouse with a couple of thousand people in it
interesting to watch. i think it was the dragon festival or something.the covent garden wanted bloody $50 for a bottle of JW red   but the barman was kind enough to tell me where the next nearest bottle-o was
i said “thanks mate, i’ll come and blow $100 here tomorrow”,
and walked out  got one round the corner for $40..
saturday morning i went and met TB, (or should that be TT, as in ‘Tartan Toes’)
at central to go for brekky at Dues. at first i didnt recognise him without his trademark “wife beater” singlet.
he was in his best cafe racer clothes, sporting some eye catching, bone coloured, tartan volleys and all:laugh:
there were some good bikes there but i thought they made bikes from scratch, not just modify….and jack the price enormously!! i guess i was a little dissappointed in that way. i cant understand why they mostly use 250cc motors in them either. id love to ride any of them though
there were lots of weird dudes and rich eccentric yuppies too…
…and Geoff Ballard, which gave TB half a mongrel
the XL500 there was absolutely mint condition and there was a 2300cc, 6 cyl triumph there, it was the size of an elephant :woohoo:
the Dues clothes are over priced too. i wish i had of found the bargain bin likethe one our forever frugal, fudge fondling, wauchopian, pope michael the 1st.
i can however, highly recommend the Dues’ eggs benedict. it was frigging expensive but it was bloody huge, TB had beans and grits
or something and it was even bigger!!
we hit the pub at 11 ish and soon the usual suspects started to roll up. a new face to me, XRtrailhack turned up. (original no.1 round eye devil)
it was good to put another ugly face to a name.
a pleasure to meet you and the family too mate.anyway, there was some bloody funny stuff getting thrown around at the pub
i was on the scotchys all day and even chucked a few beers in for good measure but i just couldnt get pissed!i dunno what was goin on.
it was great watching the world go by all afternoon in a strange place.
in the usual drunken old bull tradition, Aido was sworn in as VicTB to much applause  :laugh:we were gonna hook back up with TB and Salina for dinner but to be honest, i didnt wanna expose Sal to those 2 pisswrecks
so…..we just kept drinking
then Aido Copperfield did his latest magic trick and… POOF he dissappeared!!!
and typically, when it was his shout of course
LC had to work sunday so we split about 8pm.
i was looking for Aido in the street gutters on my way back to the hotel   but didnt find him.i had an insanely strange conversation with an old chinese lady…and i mean old…. while i waited for some takeaway rice on the way home.
she was trying to set me up with her granddaughter  , telling me how she has taught her everything…now i was thinking cook and clean but ohhh NO…
she was talking about how to “pleasure” her man…
and in amazing detail too
in the end she was begging me and said if i took her granddaughter home she would give me the rice for free!!!
AND throw in some prawn crackers  :laugh:then her granddaughter waddled out with my rice. she was the size of a giant panda or three   and probably older than me aswell
not really the picture that nanna had spoken of :Xshe gave me the food and grandma snapped something at her in chinese.
now i dunno what she said but it made panda girl go all coy and batt her eyelids at me :dry:i was outta there :X
today i went sightseeing. wandered round darling harbour and scoffed a bit of brekky, walked right up george st, stopping for a beer here and there, stopped at the rocks for a scotch to replenish vital fluids, then over to the opera house for a few more beers. jumped on the ferry back to darling harbour, monorailed it to the hotel for my bag then taxied it to the airport…
only $30 bucks for the taxi too Aido
i was home by 8 bells
matter of fact, it was a bloody good run all the way from the opera house to my door
my back is trashed, probably from laughing   but i had a phat time, it was a shit hot weekend, thanks again all you funny bastards for making it what it was
i cant wait for next years OBT conference, it has a reputation to live up to already
and i bet it will :woohoo: :woohoo:
