March 23, 2010 at 11:55 pm #174254One thing that sticks in my mind about deliberatly roosting someone was the time Moto layed his bike down in the carpark at the Pines and RiderX went to roost him while he was on the ground. Karma kicked in and RiderX got a good dose of it, when his tyre gripped and he flipped his bike in front of the assembled peanut gallery.
Still one of the funniest dirtbike moments I have witnessed.
March 24, 2010 at 12:25 am #174255Yeah that was a gold moment Mick it was so funny and then listening to Tiny yell how he was going to kill Moto for the roosting he got on the run back to camp

At first the Tiny moment was scary, as I thought he WAS gunna kill Moto. That is one of the most painful looking roostings I have ever seen.
March 24, 2010 at 12:50 am #174257Funny thing Tiny was threatening to kill me an hour and a half before because I lead the ride up Boulder hill  He wasn’t happy yelling from the bottom like a yowie   Then Gilli had a dark moment towards Ollie because he was stuck and Ollie was standing there filming it laughing
Rider X was riding other peoples bikes up, Gilli was still cursing Ollie and retreads
X rode Tinys bike up to within 5 meters of the top where Tiny jumped on and fell of on the flat bit and broke his clutch perch  :laugh:TB
March 24, 2010 at 4:26 am #174258so it seems the consensus if leaning towards roost. it is funny watching the thread unfold, watching people change their minds and add people to their lists. mick started off against the idea and now has almost everyone on the planet on his lists. its funny to hear all the paybacks due and challenges laid down
just to clear one thing up, im talking mud. not rocks or gravel or dry dirt even. sure everyone spits shit out while riding and im sure no one deliberately showers anyone with rocks. id be pissed right off if it happened to me…
but mud, even smelly black mud, is fair game IMHO. its good fun and washes off. man, i have deliberately put myself in direct roost from choppas 570, just to get a good helmet camera view.
and splashing, or the tsunami effect, thats great fun. ive copped it heaps of times. moto got me a pisser at the caves ride last year. yes i wanted to kill him for a while and even had a bit of a swing at him when he was at a corner
all you can do is laugh, and dont ride with youre jacket undone.
anyone that is silly enough to ride in the tsunami zone deserves it  :laugh:also, in general it seems that the majority wouldnt want to start the roosting but will soon cut loose if somebody else does   fair call
but i love it so much, i start it whenever i can :woohoo: :woohoo:

Quote:On Sunday I took the “chicken track” around a nice big muddy puddle and it was slow through the trees and muddy still then I heard ripnshred coming and it was too late – he ripped through the main track and got me though it wasn’t that bad. Good for a laugh though and I admitted I deserved it for running the chicken track :pThat was only a splash. Was a bit funny but, close to ROOST funny!!!! It was, however, a simple passing manouver, and the puddle got in the way
Well that’s my story anyway
Muff got me in similar situation, except I was trying to pass him! LOL and I failed. :cheer:
I reckon a good mud roost is great. Regularly get me mates and sometimes get roosted back. Aint nothing like a real sloppy slow feet down mud section and looking back to see your mate sitting right up close behind ya, and letting the big 570 rev!!!!! Woo Hoo
ROOST away people!
March 31, 2010 at 10:34 am #174133roost the corner man?…permissible?……guilty your honor
March 31, 2010 at 10:41 am #175068it happens, sometimes they just sit in the wrong spot
March 31, 2010 at 10:45 am #175069Not right into roosting actually – lack of skill perhaps? Splashing, well it happens.
Then again most of my riding doesn’t give huge opportunities for roosting (with mud anyhow). Tight single, rocks and hills, that’s where its at!
