AnonymousAwesome report, the pics and video bring back a lot of funny memories. As funny as they are though they don’t depict the fun and great riding that we actually had. It was much better than that.
The pine forest trails are some of the best you’ll ride and there are heaps to choose from. We only manageed to explore a small portion of them. The rest will have to be saved for other adventures.
I never did get to take Hollis out, he snuck past me when I was preparing a new stick. Seeing TB whack up a mongrel when Grabbo rode past and said Hi though made me laugh so hard I forgot about my mission.
It was a fun weekend and great to see the boys get on it on the final day moto, it was a bit of a shame that the special tests were so hard to see though. Lucky we had the pine forests so close to make up for it.
TB even wore a different jersey one day and nobody got a photo. As much as he looks stupid with it, he didn’t look right without it either, it will be a sad day when it gets retired.
Thanks to all who came and laughs we had it was a weekend to remember, although it’s great being back in my warm bed, damn that first night was cold!

I’ve just been told by Mick that he has spoken with Chris Hollis and has shown him the link of the above video in Youtube
That’s pretty funny stuff, especially seeing as I tipped him to win at the start of the week. Chris, if you are reading this and it makes you feel any better, you can pretend to knock me off my bike when I’m winning the next 4 day if you want? 😆
April 21, 2009 at 1:01 am #129882Winning the next 4 day??? Well i spose Hollis proved you dont have to stay on your bike all the time to be winning after the first day so you might be a chance Moto

April 21, 2009 at 8:00 am #129758Day 3, the day after the night out at the Hogs Breath, in the pig pen
We rode thru town and out towards mt Canobolas where we waited for Bob, a cousin or something of LC4skins ( he has more cousins then places I have lived, and thats a statement  )
Moto & Champo
Moto & Champo
Champo
We started into a real nice single trail that just kept going, we came across a long slippery hill, Bob was in the lead with LC4Skin close then me and the others, so Bob with a very ordinary rear tyre scoots straight up
Bob’s Tyre
So LC4 gets on his way up and disappears from my sight so of I go and am doing ok only to find a Kato 625 blocking my path. So I spin around and go back down, whilst waiting my turn again Moto and Green 450 try the right hand route, I can hear them struggling and LC4 takes of up there as well, I figure its well and truly blocked so I turned around and went back up the downhill we traveled to get into the gully, swung left and followed the road around to Bob’s bikes. I parked and walked down to see Moto and LC4skin stuck, with Bob pushing
Moto and LC4Skin, struggling
Once the hill was clear Champo rode up
We rode around in some unreal tracks, real good stuff and will be back out there soon. We went up to Mt Canobolas lookout and parked on the monument
In the above photo Moto in looking down a drop of about 5+ feet high, an almost straight drop, Champo walked around looking at it saying that would be easy to ride up and jump off, but wouldnt do it, Moto also joined in but no one would do it. When we went to leave I did a fake run and and still no one was interested so fark it I thought and did it, its a 1st gear flat landing drop, it sounds easy but was a fairly hard landing, Moto then did it and Green450 but I noticed Champo never went of the big drop lol
We then rode over to the four day motocross site to have a look see (something happened there but I will let it be, the organisers need to pull there head in and be nicer to the supporting public, that ride registered bikes on a PUBLIC road) From there we went to the Robin Hood Pub for lunch (very nice)
The boys went out to the special tests for a look whilst I took care of some business in town and then I rode out to caught up with them and took them out to a current Australians enduro champs practice tracks in the forest, and pine forest
Champo whilst chasing me had a big moment and almost got stabbed my a rouge pine tree, I was unaware and when I pulled up couldnt understand why no one was there?I took some photos while I waited
Fiddy in the woods
The sort of tracks we had ridden, although it was way tighter most the time
Not long after I could hear them coming
Moto
Green450
Champo was a bit shaken so we headed back to camp about 15kms away, LC4, Bob and green450 went back to camp to get Bobs bike loaded, Moto, Champo and myself went into town fueled, had a coldy and went back via some single trail (sweeeeeeeeeeet)
Back at camp it was found that Bob’s back sprocket matched his rear tyre
Tyre again
It was Moto’s turned to cook as I had cooked for him and myself on thursday night, so Moto got pizzas (wasnt getting them a drama)
That was day three
