    Awesome ride
    580Km
    Highest Point 1500M ASL
    13 Hrs

Tryhard, Lotsa & Myself took a bit of back road tar sections across Elderslie Bridge and wound across to the back of Singleton and joined Bridgeman Rd till the turn to Goorangoola and out along the Albano Rd that leads through to Rouchelle. These are fantastic twisty avenues winding along small creeks and across lots of small bridges & fords. You can see the car tyre marks through the green slippery moss & weed on the crossing. Yes they command respect but you have to have a little fun. Then to play chase up over the spur to the next one.

As much as we love this area we made the hard decision to punt along the tar to the Barringtons as the game plan was to scout out as much of the Barringtons that we haven’t done before and hopefully get a little lost. At worst we still had Sunday to get home and we could always stay at one of the many Wayne Manner chains of accommodation in the area.

Gundy Store is excellent for a Hamburger & Coffee so we stopped and had an early bite and went through our itinerary while we waited. There we met 3 guys on very clean DR’s heading to Nundle for the night but they didn’t get far because by the time we passed them they all had a coldie in their hand at the Moonan Flat oasis.

Up to the Dingo Gate and wahoo there was a little snow left. Friday, there had been a blizzard come through. Quick get a pic before it melts. We took a left down Boundry Rd, Falls Point Rd,Tarabucca was just like a highway and so well maintained. It was too good so we started weaving from road to road, Butchers swamp Rd, Paddys ridge trail and back onto Tarabucca.

It must have been a good dump the day before because just round the corner, there was plenty of the white stuff on the western facing gullies and it was turning the tracks into a great game of slip n slide. Which wheel will win front or back?

Bullock Brush Rd was a fun slippery down hill that had a nice camp site on the manning river. Then it turned into an amusing up hill called Tugalow trail. So why do wombats poop on rocks? We the bolted up thunderbolts trail. We didn’t find the Phesant Plucker on Phesent Crk Rd and found a rock hard tryhard standing to attention at Dilgery Circle.

Gummi Road had us stumped we hoped would loop back through Gummy Trail but just through the deep creek there was a log not to be reckoned with on a day this fine, so it was back through the creek, this time it tried to eat me but it only got a taste of my boot & knee guard and I think thats why it let me off unscaved this time.

Thunder Bolts trail goes on for ages turning into a leaf littered winding slide fest that just goes on and on and

when are we going back there! Animals everywhere, snakes, Goannas, cats & lyre birds darting off the track. Unfortunately in its last stages there must have been a massive run out sale on gates. All with interesting sineage. Not wanting to step on any property owners toes we tried a few other alternative trails, but to no avail. We finally ran into a local from up there which advised us of the original road down from the mountain called Gaeles Road. It’s usually got a couple of locked gates but they are open at the moment and apparently shouldn’t be locked. This led us past a large group of ladies on horses that were happy to wave us through. It finally dumped us out nicely on the Scone Road at the Glouster end.

Our next detour from here was back through Rawdon Vale Rd and a cruise up Berrico Rd into the Avon River State Forest. We had a little bike trouble on the way back so we called stumps and headed for home.

    Things to remember.
If you think maybe we should get fuel here. Get it! Where ever here may be.
Stroud dosent have fuel & the servo at Booral Rd closes at 4.00pm Week Ends
Be nice to the locals. They might give good directions and maybe fuel.
The sound of someone bighting the dust is terrible over Blue Tooth Scala.
Take Someone with Pillion Pegs on their bike.

The Servo Attendant said we would get mug shot of the year.
