Well it looks like I`m heading up to Sunny QLD for work, Maryborough to be exact
Not a permanent thing (at this stage) just a short term secondment to another division of my current employer. Not planning on riding at all at this stage as the logistics of getting bike & gear up there is not an option.
But I am looking at getting into a Bundy Rum Distillery tour & some of the local fishing as I will be staying right on the water at Hervey BayAlso keen to hit some freshwater action at Lake Lenthalls, which has Barra, big Bass, Silver Perch and Saratoga :woohoo:
Anyone on here have any contacts with locals up that way with access to a tinny or Kayak for a weekend or day trip ??Gotta plan something to kill the weekends while I`m up there as at this stage I don`t think I`m required to work the Sat or Sundays
I will be in town from 17th and through till the 5th or 6th April.

March 5, 2014 at 7:03 am #254715Get onto some of the fishing forums Eags , tell them your dreams and maybe some one up there can get you a seat in a boat with a local guide and all .
You could always freight your bike and gear up there a week or two before you fly and pick it up when you arrive , and then freight it back when it’s time to come home . Might be a bit exy though .
Myself , I’d book a charter for some Harvey bay pelagic action or a bottom bounce off shore depending on what’s being caught at the time . I have no experience of any of the operators up there though , so can offer no advice about them .
March 5, 2014 at 7:26 am #254698Good luck Eagle
Hope it all works out as I said today gives us a call anytime.
Cheers mate

March 5, 2014 at 8:34 am #254699I`m expecting to be made redundant either the day I leave or when I get back Al  so will be keeping the penny spending to a minimum mate,, therefore charters are off my radar unfortunately
I only really volunteered to go to escape the negative vibes and flying knives at work at present , A change is as good as a holiday I reckon
Cheers Strucky, It was good to have a chat this arvo mate.
As I said, great to hear your getting back into a work routine too champ .All the best
March 5, 2014 at 8:51 am #254700That’s too bad mate.
Was hoping you might front for the Snowy ride.
Have a good time up there. Plenty of sunscreen while fishing on that Irish skin of yours.
Uncertain times for sure in the Aussie economy.
See you when you get back. How about TTT in August mate?
