The inevitable has happened guys and there is a 3 litre used engine oil spill in the garage. What’s the best way to get rid of it and leave a minimal stain?

I’m thinking sand, but I don’t know if you guys have any other fancy techniques that may work better? You know, pinch of salt, two mice tails and a bottle of 1964 cabernet shiraz :P

Who is dog proofing the house you or him lol (I gather thats whats happened)

You need to by some oil soak up from Repco, Supercheap or the likes it works better than sand, than some degreaser etc to clean it, then some of the remove oil stains from the new unblemished concrete in your rented garage stuff that I have seen at the above locations, its a oil stain cleaner it works cant remember the name but could be because I am laughing my head off

Good luck, I will try and remember the name or find out for you buddy

Cheers mate. Apparently a metal drum with a plastic lid isn’t good enough (the plastic lid wasn’t anyway).

If he doesn’t stop biting stuff soon he will be demoted to the garden until further notice. I reckon he’s eaten over $800 worth of my stuff so far! That’s fatal eatings too not partial nibblings

    kitty litter moto.

cheaper than the proper stuff…..work just as good too

you could try practicing your signature “moonwalk” move in it first…..

because your bad, your bad, you know it, your bad:P

I need to get something on it quick so it may well have to be kitty litter as there isn’t a Repco or the likes very close to the Bay. Then I can venture to the Terrace and try and get some products TB has mentioned.

Menace is right the kitty litter will soak in up, just get the other stuff on there as soon as you can, and rub the kitty litter in like menace said, oh yeah moon walking is the go, but you have to have someone video it so we can all see it, Duff Man says “oh Yeah!”

The cat litter is down. It looks to absorbed the wrost of it. I’ll leave it there for a few hours then try some degreaser and maybe even soap powder.

Cheers for the info. experienced peoples :)

When it’s all cleaned up Moto get some concrete sealant from the hardware and seal the floor in your shed. Then next time you spill oil or anything on the floor just mop it it and no stain.

Cheers Mal. I had thought about that as soon as I moved in actually. Problem is that it’s a rented property. ‘What do you mean the floor is all shiny, it was like that when I moved in’

After all is said and done, I have also tried a few other remedies. you can use a washing powder with Enzymes you make up a slurry and you have to let it sit for about a day, works incredibly well. Another product that you can use is called Actizyme same as before clean up the best you can using all of the aformentioned products then make up a slurry of the actizyme and let it sit for a few hours

    good as new

Then lay some carpet down in your Garage with a waterproof sheet underneath Noice!!B)

Carpet is the go. I have rubber backed carpet squares in the workshop part of the shed and when I have a spill, just take the square outside and wash it. and it looks noice too.

I also have a kitchen, toilet, shower, fire and fridge in the shed. happy days when I’m in the dog house :woohoo:
