That’s sad news that you will not be here as often anymore Moto.

But it good news that you are doing some investing.

I would like to try and encourage you not sell all your gear and keep 1 bike for the occasional ride. But if this is what you want to do then good luck mate. Like Mr Blue said make sure you still live your life and get out and do things you enjoy.

It’s been a pleasure to meet and ride with you and I hope we can catch up some time.

I agree entirely with Mal, well said Mal.

If I may offer my 20c worth; dont put all your eggs in one basket, several smaller investments are probably better than 2 biggies.
Also, 1 well maintained bike can easily get you say, $5K if you get caught in a bind. Think about that.

    All the best Moto.

    Beemie.

It is indeed a sad day for OBT but I wish you all the best in the future mate. You are in the bset position to know which direction you want to take your life and I am sure you will find sucess. I am glas I got to ride threed ays in Coffs with you last year and if yoiu ever find your way up the North Coast don’t be shy to drop by for a beer. Your not giving that up are you? :(

    Good Luck buddy!

Thanks for all the replies guys and the kind words. I decided to sell up shop because the cost of actually owning the bike is very small by comparison to my cost for running it. As I said to Greg, and those of that know me will know, I can’t do things by halves so restricted my bike budget is something that just isn’t going to happen….I have tried before not that you would ever know :P

I WILL be back, just maybe not for a couple of years depending how I go. I only really need to save hard for a year to get the deposits I need for 3-4 investments. I have spent alot of time looking into this and making this decision.

I would like to say a big thanks to all at OBT for their help and friendship since I’ve joined and also to say that I consider you all good friends, bike or no bike and you are always welcome to stop by if in the area. I have lots of great memories to call upon which will also help to draw me back sooner rather than later.

Big love and safe riding people :)

PS – STM I will be in Coffs with my uncle and Tom 26th April for a week, they are taking their bikes and looking forward to getting out with you. I’ll just have a beer with you unless I still have a bike knocking around :P

I will check hat date in April with work commitments but it should be fine.

Maybe I should put on the annual three day ride on those dates.

I will let you know so you can pass it on to them.

    Cheers

Gotta say I’m a bit shocked  Especially as you’ve only just got the new smoker.

Good luck in the future, I hope it all works out the way you want it to ;)

Well this is a complete surprise to me as well  I know he loves the whole thing going on with Old Bull so he will definately be back :P

Scott…… As Stevo said we have booked into the same park again from April 26 for a week , I will be bringing my wife and daughter as well as my Dad(moto’s grandad) who is visiting from the UK. The intention was to get out for a ride with Stevo and maybe you depending on your availability, but not as much riding as in Sept.
I will speak to Stevo tomorrow and try and persuede him to keep a bike at least until after that weekend ;)

All the best Moto with selling all of your stuff and going down the investing path.

I must admit I can’t imagine you without a bike. I’ve tried but I just can’t do it. So if you ever feel the need to ride there’ll always be a spare bike in our shed for you (that is of course as long as we have the PW80  ).

It’s funny because before we got into bikes again we were real good with our money. Then we got bikes again and now we never have any money. As an Accountant I should know better and I should invest and I should be putting heaps more into my super blah blah blah.

I have now accepted the fact that I won’t ever have heaps of money. But I can accept that because I know that I am having a heap of fun along the way.

But I admire your strength and resolve with the path that you are choosing at this point in time and wish you all the best with it. Who knows, sometime in the future I might wake up to myself and do something smarter.

Reading your post Kylie made me think of my life.I have been fortunate to work in a family buisness and never really had to worry about money, but something was missing.Since i have got into trailbikes and met some great people thru oldbulls i have never been happier.Money does not buy happiness,it might make you more comfortable but it does not make you happy.

Again, thanks for the continued well wishes :)

Mal – I’m not selling the Taxi, it does everything I need a financed through the company doesn’t cost me all that much. Now, that I don’t need a towbar though a 2 seater little number could a goer…………..just joking

The plan is just to get myself up and running, get the first few properties under my belt which, according to my calculations should be within the year and then sort one for me and Tyne too. At that point I’d look to getting a bike again and hopefully have a DI 2 smoker!

Other houses will follow depending on how the capital gains and equity situation is looking :) If I f*ck it all up I may never be back unless Kylie and Dan lend me a go of the PeeWee

Consider it a sabbatical as opposed to the end of the line :)
