Thanks for your comments guy’s…..
Here is a photo of the bike – ready to ROCK and ROLL. Packing completed. With new tyres on I can only JUST get my tippy toes on the ground….
Count down Chris is 5 Sleeps to go.
Got a call from TB this morning confirming that our preparations have been right on the mark and we should feel very confident that our bikes will see us through the 7500km….. :woohoo:
Great news is that TB, SMick400 and Dan will join us for the first day to ensure we are settled into the Rally. What a way to commence an adventure of a life time with my mate Flying Fish.
July 22, 2012 at 8:17 pm #223992Great that the guys are joining in for Day 1
I was thinking of doing the same thing for at least half a day
But I have the relos down from Brisvegas again for a 5yo birthday weekend :pinch: Thats the same reason I can`t attend the Stockton Beach campoverOnly 5 sleepless nights to go hey Girls ??????

They both say they are nervous but I think at the same time relieved & excited to get underway
All the prep is done (and done well I might add), all there is to do now is cruise to the start, soak up the atmosphere & ease into it on Sat morning,,,,Go you good things :woohoo:

I pressume Mick was using has safety sqwint while using the angle grinder… :unsure:Yeah…forgot to bring the safety glasses…the squint was working well, with sparks and metal shards just bouncing off my eyelashes…then I noticed TB’s technique of viewing everything through the bottom of a beer bottle!
looking forward to heading down to Wisemans tomorrow for the start on Saturday…wonder if it’s too late to call my boss and ask for 2 weeks off??

Thanks Eagle for your call. I needed your witty one liners to crack a laugh.
Well tonight’s preparations included a 1hr torture session with a Chinese massage man. The tension has caused my back and neck to stiffen up and I wasn’t going to resort to rum to fix it as being pickled at the start wasn’t a good move…. Might make me ride faster but a crash is almost certain.
Spoke to Amy tonight and she got a cortisone injection to help the tennis elbow problem. Ouch.
Anyway our bodies won’t have an option but to put up with the pain. We are loaded up with pills and I’m sure that a nip of rum etc will kill the pain sensors.
Heading off now to TRY and sleep.

Well Kat I can’t wait to tomorrow night being invited into the inner sanctum of the OBT APC team and getting to share the final preparation and last night will be awesome
As you know I am in Dubbo this week and towed my Tenere out here to service it and fit tyres after the Cape. Well I finished the bike this evening after worked and am packed and ready to catch up

AlyssaJuly 26, 2012 at 11:46 am #226723Hi Team,
Sorry I have been a little quiet in the last week. I have been a littlle errr………busy…….to say the least.
But here we are, the lights have gone orange and we are but hours from lining up at Wisemans for the start of a very exciting adventure….I can’t bloody wait :woohoo:
I one of earlier posts I mentioned I was looking for some graghic to put on my bike so I could spread the Old Bull Trail Riders word and show a small token of apprication for the help and support I have recieved from everybody . TB sent me some cool ideas, so with the help of a local signwriters/sicker shop I now think the bike looks awesome.
So here it before
Now with the graghics
I have a few more last minute things to do and pack, but I will be leaving home at about 12.30 today so I can get to Wisemans and soak up the atmosphere and hook up with the rest of the team.
Like Kat mentioned I have an annoying elbow injury sorted out yesterday, so it wont bother me on the ride.
OK I had better go and get ready….see you all on the raod. BTW Kat and I will post our spot tracker up later today so you can all follow.

July 26, 2012 at 6:35 pm #223995Doing last minute preparation at wiseman ferry pub …………calming the butterflies with a can of bundy and coke with smick400.
On our way here we noticed oil dripping out of the oil filter cover……omg…..
So after the bike having a little rest on its side some silastic was applied to the offending o-ring. Looks like the o-ring I was given may not be the right one for the xr 400m. But alas all fixed and will get it sorted out at home on my return.
