    have you worked out the major reason for the scouring of the piston to that degree. you do mix your own fuel/oil dont you.:ohmy:

    i couldn’t get my usual maxima castor based oil so i tried castrol r30. i mixed it in fresh 98 octain that morning at 30:1. should have been ok

    that piston looks awefully like a lubricant free zone???

    R 30 shouldnt have been the culprit????
    About to put the slug out of the IT tomorrow an see what 2 years of on the stopps has done to her

    i arranged some special fuel yesterday, i’m going back to my old oil, i’m going to run a main that is 2 sizes bigger.

    however the race is this weekend and i have not got the new piston yet.

    does that special fuel require a piston with more steel on the top to stop holes burning through it???

    Any piston would be better than no piston, what are you planning to do with the special fuel Champo have a special camp fire :laugh: Need a piston first I would have thought :P

    the saturday race (these are notmally 2 day events) is a vinduro anyway. i don’t think my elsinore is well suited to the trails.

    however the sunday race is vmx, i am really really going to miss that:(

    It was 7 weeks ago that it blew up, cant you get a piston? It need reboring or just a hone, would have been some damage to the bore looking at that old damaged piston

    Long story cut short; but. the cylinder cleaned up well to suit a piston that is 56.95

    however the piston I got last time should have been 56.95. however it was .1 smaller. i spoke to serco yesterday and they are sending me a one that is guaranteed to be correct.
