Yep. 29 :) In a few more years I scared i will degenerate and ride as slow as you. I might even buy a KTM 990 like I know you want to for the ST.

What a bush weapon. Imagine all that power in some tight, slippery (easy people) single track :)

So you finished Chops bike then? Good work :)

yeah mate back then I was 20 21 years old fit as a bastard and riding the wheels off a KTM 500.They were the halcyon days, raced every weekend, did motocross and enduro rode until dark every wednesday arvo for training. It now takes months to get over injuries,Im carrying about 15 kg more than I should be and Im knackered after a good day in the saddle. Im still enjoying it though and get a kick out of personal achievements rather than trying to be faster than is reasonably safe to do.Rocky hills are still my nemisis! The best is going trailriding with my 15 year old and teaching him skills.

Yeah my fitness isn’t what it used to be and a full days ride takes it out of me too. Having ridden once in seven weeks I’m going to be hurting big style after the Christmas party!

My cycling career has been long and eventful, it all started on a 5 speed Dragster called an Apollo 11, I received for Xmas in 1970. I was taught to ride a motorbike on a Yamaha GTMX 80.The first motorbike I actually had was a DT100 and it has gone on from there.
I thought I would post a few pictures to highlight how good I was …LOL

Here is the day I invented stoppies

Here is the day I invented free style MX..This trick was widely known as a Crossup not to be confused with the pancake that I invented shortly after this photo was taken, it has since been developed and is now known as a whip I believe.

Being a natural show off I found wheelstanding a necessary skill, to whoo the opposite sex and leave my peers watching on in awe. After flipping my Z1100 I purchased a GPZ1100 that I found was very easy to wheelstand

    dsc02021389.jpg

But nowhere near as easy as my TT600

Below is a shot of the original peace wheelie being developed at a our secret test circuit in the early 80’s. The same circuit where I was pictured wheelstanding the GPZ1100 btw.

In fact at one stage there was a time when I could wheelstand anything. Much to the Old man’s disgust.

Very good Mick. Some cool pics. I wish I had some of my trials days. I think my folks have a couple back home. I started on bikes when I lived in Saudi Arabia. My dad bought me a Italjet 50 for my 3rd birthday. I used to go ride it in the desert near our house.

A couple of years later when we got back to the UK I got a Yamaha TY80 trials bike. After a few years of not riding I got back into trials on a Yamaha TY250 ‘Pinkie’ before moving onto several trials bikes (Beta, Gas Gas and even a Montessa for short period of time).

There was then another spell without bikes as I found out about girls, although later I made a brief return to the road scene with a Honda VFR400 (awesome bike) and a GSXR600.

8 years later I make a return with KTM450 in the enduro/trailride scene.

As I don’t have any old motorbike pics, I’ll attach a few BMX pics from the days when I too had hair. I’ll post some DH mountain bike ones if I can find any too….

He was used to it. I was riding trials at this stage and had some pretty good stacks :) He was even there when I taken to hospital with a suspected broken back, you should have seen his face then! Turns out I was just making a meal out of temporarily not feeling my legs.
