June 29, 2009 at 11:39 am #141771I fitted the 30L tank to my bike this arvo as I have never used it before and thought maybe this was the ride to give it a test run, I have sworn before to never use it, as I was given it and wasnt really sure I wanted it, but it was sort of free
Here is some pictures of it fitted, problem I see is because the exhaust is a custom hand built Staintune system (for GHR when they built the bike) the header pipes are a lot bigger in diameter then say Micks 650 the headers are pretty close to the fuel tank and I am not sure about it, will have to wrap the header there at the bend
Some other pics of the tank on the bike
So I just fitted the 17 L for the ride

Hey TB there is also some adhesive heat shield used in showcars that you may be able to stick onto the tank as well as wrapping, Lukey mufflers makes it as well as a generic brand that repco have. I have used it before with good results, Yamaha have a strip as a spare part for a lot of there rear side number plates on bikes with muffler plastic melting problems as another alternative
