AnonymousI only got 4 pics on the Sunday ride. The quality is a bit ordinary my hands were shaking too much after trying to keep up with Kylie.
After Santy Claus visits in 24 days I will have my helmet cam so I should be able to catch a bit more of the action.I give up I’ve tried to upload the pics that I got on Sunday but I can’t:angry:

I placed it near or there about near the trailer when he came to get it and HE failed to take it.
Big thanks to Chicken for all his hard wood for a ride and camp he never got to use, please look after the shovel Champo, I think its been in hs family foo years (the way he is carrying on sounds like it any how!)

AnonymousCould not even be bothered to give us a wave as he passes
Wikdbeemer picks his way through the bikes, but not skewers
Eagle thoughtfully blocks the track so we don’t run into the skewered beemer up ahead
If you are quiet and peer through the bushes you may catch a glimpse of the rare Italian blue bum fly feeding

Mate I had to park the Gasser then run back up the Hill,to make sure the others came down the right side of the track other wise there could have been carnage, long way for an Ambo ride. This Hill was my main concern for the Newbies:silly: and I can gladly say they all managed pretty damn good:laugh:
What did the northern chapter think of this section?

December 1, 2008 at 12:28 pm #113390Rain Rain Rain and more rain, a brief letup so Chop and I thought we’d nip out for a quick blat on our new bikes, 10mins into our little excursion and the rain started bucketing down again. Nice!.. Arriving back at camp and awaiting the arrivals of the wauchope boys. Already there were Gilli, Ollie, TB, Chop, Me. Shane, Moto and Champo were not far behind. A great job by TB and Chop setting up the camp site couldn’t have asked for more, although a closed shower would have been good hey Chop. Music was playing and the drinks flowing when in came the wauchope boys, Mick hobbling around on his crutch and acting like it was broken or something, fossil, riderx, moose and others who;s names evade me right now Sorry!. What a great bunch of guys as much as we give them crap about wauchope, they certainly breed some good fellas up that way. Lots of Idle chit chat around the fire, lots of JACK LINKS jerky was had along with beer, rum, scotch and a few cuppas for chop. Cooked up a few snags for dinner and continued drinking till probably around 11.30, I thought we were being over run
by drop bears until I realised it was Ollie snoring in the tent a couple of metres away.. Moto;s tent putting up efforts left something to be desired but he
got it in the end with a little help from Champo. Didn’t sleep much, after the stories around the fire of tree branches falling on unsuspecting campers while they slept, I think I jumped at every little noise I heard and wondering whether that branch was going to fall on TB’s tent.Saturday morning.. Woke to the sound of Mick crapping on at around 6.00, kept dozing for a while but he didn’t letup, got up to a breakfast of Bacon and egg rolls, Thanks Chop. A couple of visits to the thunder box and all was good.
We geared up to get ready for our ride when Mac and the gang turned up with the spit trailer and the OB trailer, what a legend… After the disclaimers were made by TB we started off on the ride, we had another bunch join in unexpectedly which threw some chaos into our group (guys next time can you wait till our sweep has gone through, it’s common trail courtesy). We then had some of their group and some of our group miced up in their group, Had a laugh with Gilli, when one of them were taking photos of us, the dude had no idea we weren’t with their group. They are probably still trying to work out who it was.. 20 minutes later we hooked back up with our group and all was good, great mix of single, twin and firetrail. TB had a crash, yes TB had a crash, I’m more suprised that he admitted it I thought TB could have bribed fossil I think with a couple of boxes of Jack Links.. Eagle, I have to say welcome to
trailriding, If that was my first real bush ride I probably would have been in the same boat as you, you certainly got chucked in at the deep end, at least now you know what to expect and bring some swimmers next time.. Seriously you will be all the better for the experience.. I had a crash whilst travelling down a narly hill, hit a slippery MF of a tree root and the front tyre dropped out from under me, just so happened the tree next to me didn’t have time to move, banged my head on the side of it which shook me up a bit and took a good while to get some confidence back, More worried about damage to the new bike than me.. Thanks MOTO, Moose, RiderX and Gilli for your concern, it’s all good.. Took a couple of nurofen at the next stop just in case. Later on I got snagged by some vines on the neck brace, luckily they let go before tearing me off the bike, Crash said he had this happen too, maybe something to be cautious of. The rest of the morning ride was awesome great single track, big puddles, narly hills up and down, a stop at Ollies lookout.. The rain held off
for the rest of the morning for us. Heading back, chops DR was boiling and he was a bit concerned, Gilli helping Eagle out, how fit is that Gilli!, riding Eagle’s bike down/up hills and then running back to get his own, Sweep Rider of the Year, I say. I got stuck on a little downhill bit where Champo had his bike parked on the bit where I should have gone through, but instead was trying to get around the outside, stuck between a rock and a log.. Thanks Shane for coming to the rescue. A fairly sedate ride back to camp a quick sandwich with some meat from Mac’s Spit hit the spot – wish I could have had a couple more..Off I went to John Mellencamp at Bimbagden Winery what a legend that guy is. Sheryl Crow wasn’t half bad either. I missed the Saturday night festivities so can’t comment on that, however congrats to Eagle for winning the jacket and all the others that won prizes on the night..

Chris.December 1, 2008 at 12:54 pm #113300What a weekend.Despite myself being unorganised and completely computer incopetent, Mick, despite his over enthuisiastic wheely style, he managed to get me to the much anticipated Old bulls christmas party.
Huge black clouds followed us all the way from Wauchope yet through the mist we found the campsite and enjoyed meeting new and old faces round the fire(Thanks to Chicken for the firewood)Stuff night riding, a beer and a chat was more suitable in those conditions.
Saturday morning after some slippery trails a regroup saw that some old bulls had strayed. As a farmer I knew this was a problem however this was soon rectified. Some luscious loamy trails followed with an awesome variety of trails and riding styles. Highlights include Eagle on the mighty KLX, what an intro to trail riding. Champo’s speed and enthusiam in getting to the next photo location, as well as his rock moving ability. After an awesome long rocky downhill section where Fossil’s CRF did a great impersonation of a 1970’s 2 smoker on Super TT,a lunch break saw us regroup for some more fun.
The afternoon ride was a real single trail dream, made even more interesting by weather that even saw hailstones during a trailside crash repair. Some rutted gullies and steeper sections suddenly became very interesting.
Waiting at the bottom of Boulder hill was an amazing exhibition of rider technique, tyre selection and rider ability.Unfortunately, my ability came up somewhere short of Rider X,and some soil sampling and impersonations of a heart attack victim whilst trying to start “old burple” followed. However, my efforts gave everybody some comic relief, and thanks to Battye’s Bikes,my pathetic effort earnt me a set of new riding gear.Loved the video Ollie.
I don’t know how to describe the fun that was had on Saturday night, but thanks to Mac and Scooter for organizing the spit etc. and to the supporting busineses for the multitude of prizes and awards.
Sunday Ollie showed us some different trails, again with great variety of terrain and riding conditions.
Thanks to all concerned,T.B and Ollie for leading the rides, and everybody for making me feel so welcome.I enjoyed meeting all those I didn’t already know.
Special thanks to Battye’s bikes for the grouse new gear. -
