    Hi everyone,
I have registered but am having some problems with the activation so I thought I would just post a message under my hubby’s name. I just wanted to say what a fantastic ride Sunday was! We normally do a lot more single trail than open trail but I found it great.

I also wanted to thank the couple of guys who helped me out with getting my bike back up the right way. I can only imagine what they thought when they would come across me struggling to get it upright and get it about halfway only to lose it again, and again. I have no idea who you are because helmets, armour and bikes are a bit of a blur and I did try to thank you profusely but I wasn’t sure if you heard me.

As for everyone else the support that everyone showed was fantastic. I went on a girls ride in June at Bulahdelah and crashed up a hill and was struggling a bit and the guy behind me went straight past me. On another part a low hanging vine had caught me round the neck and pulled me off the bike and the guy behind me wasn’t even going to help me push it out of the way so that no one else would cop it.

Anyway I look forward to the next ride.

Leading up to the Xmas party there was much speculation whether I would actually leave my comfort zone here at Wauchope and turn up. In all honesty, it was the most anticipated event all year for me.
Once I knew I had an unconditional leave pass and all was good to go I set about getting the Wauchope Boys acts together with weekly Friday arvo meetings and the like.
I had lists written out and the XR tuned perfectly in preparation and was really keen to get down to the much raved about Wattagans to see what all the hype was about.
I cannot put into words my disappointment, when the weekend before the event I screwed up badly and the doctor saw the need to put my foot in plaster.
From that moment on, as you could imagine my enthusiasm took a serious nose dive but I was determined to prove TB wrong and I still intended turning up.
As the weather reports weren’t looking all that promising for hobbling around in the bush on crutches trying to keep a plaster cast clean. I went and saw Lamby at Lamb’s motor trimming in Wauchope and he knocked up a really nifty vinyl boot for my cast which made it possible for me to get around a whole lot better. Once I had that, my enthusiasm went up a notch or two and I was keen to get down there and put some faces to names and have a fizzy drink or two.
A special thanks goes to the Wauchope Boys who helped me get there and ensured I was comfortable, as in all reality, being on crutches I was a liability and of not much use around the camp site.
Anyhow, with all that said, I had a great time, although the hardest part of the weekend was when everyone roared of on the Saturday morning and all of a sudden it was just me and the Currawongs. This time alone allowed me to contemplate my stupidity.
Although I wasn’t alone long as,15 minutes later Mac roars back into the camp with a front brake calliper hanging off, being experienced in such matters I went about robbing a bolt from his triple clamp and sent him on his way, then before you know it,Wikdbeemer was back with a holed radiator on the new Beemer,What a crap bit of luck, 6km into the ride!!
It was pretty obvious that the radiator was screwed and his ride was over.

The roast meat from the spit was one of the highlights of the weekend and Mac andScooter did and admirable job keeping everyone fed, even though Mac near got his head blown off in a mini gas explosion bought on by a gas leak in the spit!!
Here is a picture of Scooter getting the meat ready……

The Saturday night was great, the laughs were coming thick and fast and so were the beers. Congratulations to all the guys who won prizes, Moose was especially pleased with winning the riding gear as he had something dry to wear on the Sunday loop..

Here are a couple of other random pics I took……..

    Sunday mornings line up…..

It turned out to be hard yakka and he had to take his shirt off…….

    dsc02056510.jpg

Maybe in hind sight, he should have utilized TB’s tire service!!!

    dsc02057360.jpg

There were plenty of highlights over the weekend, here are a couple that come to mind…..

*Actually finding the campsite in the pea soup fog
*Moto and RiderX’s sycronised crash routine in the camp area
*Moto’s little dummy spit, when he threw his chair in the fire
*The fire was good, big thanks to Chicken for the wood and Choppers dedication to keeping the fire stoked.
*Tiny, when he was gunna headbutt Moto for the roostage.
*Fossil living up to his name and sitting motionless in a comatose state for ages
    *The meat from the spit.
*the split watermelon grin RiderX was wearing all weekend
The biggest high light though would have to be meeting new members and catching up with old mates.

Thanks to everyone that came and made it the great weekend it was and I look forward to the day I actually get to ride with you all.

Hey Kylie, if you’re still having issues with the activation email TB on trailboss@obtrailriders.com and he can help you out :)

If you were referring to the rocky downhill then it was me and Gili who helped you :) We were both saying that you go very well, I can see why Dan posted that he was having a hard time keeping up with you!

Nice report and photies Mick. I had a lump in my throat when I was reading about you in the camp by yourself, these boiled sweets are a bitch when they down sideways

It was a shame that such a key person of the site couldn’t make the ride, but at least you were there for the weekend. You can set your sights on the 3 day event in March and count me in for sure.

It was funny, everytime I saw you you had an alcoholic beverage in hand!

The snoring I was referring to was coming from the general vicinity of the Oldbull trailer.

You are right Moto,It was good to have a whole weekend on the turps,I still would have preferred to ride though:(

Ahhhh right ;) Well I couldn’t have heard anything over Ollie anyway. You could have fired my bike up and rode it away and I wouldn’t have known

Let me start by thanking the people that helped make the weekend all that it was.

Chicken, for cutting a massive amount of fire wood, splitting said wood and then carting it up to the camp, helping tie all the tarps and set the camp up, a camp you wouldn’t use and leaving he great great grand fathers shovel from the boar war for us to use, them going of at me because he left it there, you are a legend as always.

Mac and Crew, for the meat and the BBQ etc thanks guys it was so good! And the effort to drag it all the way up and back cheers guys

Chopper, dragged the trailer with the genset, the tarps, the poles, the prizes, fuel for the generator, tyres, tyre changers, water etc
Once on site he spent hrs helping Chicken and myself in the rain setting up all the tarps etc that made the camp. He played fire warden and cook most of the weekend, cheers chop you unit!

Mick, You helped push the sales and made my job easier nearly as much as you made it harder, I never doubted for a minute that you wouldn’t make it there, but was having to much fun stirring to let you know that I believed you would, thanks for getting Ant on board with the prizes and organising the guard stickers and for all the other small things you do that only I know about, cheers Mate!

Ollie and Gilli, Gilli you would go close for sweep of the year, just I haven’t done it yet so we can’t be sure how good you really are lol. No really mate above and beyond the call of duty, good job, and Ollie I didn’t get out on your loop, good thing as I didn’t finish packing the camp up till after 2pm, thanks mate everyone loved it. To both you guys for the savers thank you so much from all at OBT admin.

Champo, Our roving photographer thanks mate for that, thanks for grabbing the bread and thanks for the crushing your pipe so we could all look at it and be amazed at how quickly you got it fixed, all this took the attention away from my crash, perfect, good job, cheers

Moto, Our roving helper, you helped me once when I became maybe slightly stuck, thanks for the comic relief you provided for all during the weekend, remind me again why I shouldn’t lose you out the back blocks of bum f*#k nowhere this coming weekend?

I am sure I have forgot someone that has done all the above and maybe more if I have someone PM me and I am sorry.

The thing about thanking people is that everybody there and every effort by every person there made it the great event it was. For me watching guys jump in and help Shane work on / fix the VOR was priceless, guys producing bits and pieces to get guys going was good to see, it shows the quality of the people on the site. Next year our Christmas Party will be in July, dates are easier for everybody to make as this time of the year is so busy.

Key highlights of the weekend for me are

Watching people turn up through the pea soup on Friday night

Getting X’s stamp of approval for the trails used, silly old bastard he is

The silly I am having a ball grin on Eagles face all weekend, even in the mud bath and the landings the Eagles kept making over and over and over, the sign of a true trail rider.

Shane VOR dressed at what must have been 5.30 on Saturday morning, only three hrs to wait mate, we wont go without you! Lol

Listening to guys laugh and tell stories about what happen back there every time we stopped for a break

X crashing in the car park being a tool, you need a bike that has some sort of horse power to break traction to spin the wheel bonehead, and the little girls WR250 isn’t the bike for that mate

Moto, well Moto just being Moto, chairs in the fire, falling of in the car park, crashing in puddles and just being himself.

Moose just poking around on the old 600, that was a real highlight because I love those things, it was a stock as and with his ability he never gave a inch to all the high tech light weight upside down, electric, pulse width modulated, fulcrum diverted, acid injected, 5 stroking, bikes there and always had a grin, going yeah yeah yeah yeah, you da man moose.

Gilli’s Bitch fit on Boulder hill was priceless, I know it’s a son of a bitch when 6 guys stand at the top and give advice, but that’s the way it rolls, ha ha funny, Gilli was also man enough the say sorry later, not needed mate it’s the way it goes. (Note to self, don’t get stuck on a hill with Gilli at the top)

Tiny stomach, it’s really not a highlight, but the roost marks are!

Seeing the BMW in the flesh, was great, bad not for long enough!

Passing X on the back wheel at around 120 – 130 mark whilst racing with Moto

    Racing back with Moto

Completing the trails as planned for the weekend without and injuries.

Meeting all the fantasic people that turned up and looking forward to doing it and or just riding with you all again soon

    Cheers all

yes yes, i had myself a minor, uncommon ‘loss of self control’ moment, or as Mac likes to put it, ‘an almighty blow up!!! Yes a bit of a hissy fit after having to much air in the rear tyre, therefor no traction on the greasy little hill!!
Thanks to all for the kind words of advice as i struggled my way to the top on my 4th attempt!! mongrels!!;)

Was a bloody good week end, had a great ride with no injuries. Lost about 4 kgs of sweat on sat after running up and down hills all morning, but had a grin on my face the whole time. Keep on that bike Eagle, i would have lost the plot and called it quits, but you rode the whole loop, good stuff!

    Highlights

The torential down pour on Fri just after i got the tarp up

Chopper nuding up in the rain!

the almighty bugger up first corner of the ride, the fault lies with other group cutting in

Chris nearly flipping the new wr250

waiting on the trail with moto in a hail storm

my gumby impression ending up under my bike going over a log!

auctioning off the prizes, lots of hard work went into there manufacture!!

Having a great time stuffin around with moto sweeping, watching him ride sideways over ruts one handed!!! classic!

everyone with sounding like a brass band after all the JACK LINX JERKY!!
