Ive been registered for around 12 months or so but have to be honest every time I have browsed have found the site a little difficult to navigate and havent had much succes hooking up for rides with fellow Bullers. For this reason I have been a bit reluctant to follow this site. I am almost 34 – live to ride and live in Canberra. I have sound knowledge of the Brindebella ranges ACT, Tallaganda State forest NSW, Monga NSW, Mogo State forest NSW, and am fairly familiar with the tracks from Sussex Inlet south to Batemans bay. I have plotted, lead and organised many large rides my biggest leading 122 riders on the Meachies ride this year from Majors Creek NSW to Mogo and return, I hold an annual Tallaganda to Bendethera ride and camp out for the past three years, my last longer ride was from Tallaganda to Broulee via Bendethera valley. I regularly lead rides in the above mentioned aeas almost every weekend. Majority of these rides are graded 3 to 5. I absolutely live for single track and avoid every main road where possible except for the long distance rides in excess of 150 ks. I suppose the question I am asking is there old Bull riders in this areas that are keen to hook up for some of these rides. I have to be honest that I do spend a lot of time on Dirt bike world and am well known there but am getting frustrated with the younger ones talking crap. I would like to start using this forum as it seems to attract the mature riders. PM me if your keen to ride these tracks.
January 4, 2010 at 11:13 am #167017sounds like your into my kind of riding may have to come visit canberra one weekend when it cools down a little bit(from dubbo) .welcome to the site plenty of old farts i mean bulls on here
January 4, 2010 at 11:17 am #167018Mature riders? where? on here?
growing old is inevitable but growing up is optional
 :cheer: :silly: :silly:  :woohoo:
welcome to the site!
i hope you find it easier as you find your way around!
post up in the ride gathering area when you will be riding, and those that think they can make it will put their hand up.
but there are few around your area
but some do like to get to Batemans bay as much as they can.
have you ridden out around the Tumbarumba area? when my Sis. lived there i was keen to plan a trip through the forest/ national park from Tumba to ACT, but they moved and it never happened, and as i would have been on my own in an unknown area it always got pushed back on the list of to do’s.
anyway pleased to meet you,
January 4, 2010 at 11:25 am #167040Good on you Motoman
122 riders Bloody hell  did you run a 5 man cornerman system  I to would be interestested in your Canberra rides as I havent ridden down that way and I love the single trail. I find DBW very helpful as they have a lot more users especially when it comes to Gasgas specific type questions. But I have to agree with you, putting up with the young Punks on there, and the ADB forum as well can be very frustrating  Hope to hook up with you for a ride one day.

January 4, 2010 at 11:42 am #167045Weome to the site Motoman.
I’ve been keen to get down your way for years. I’m up near Sunny Corner and Canberra isn’t that far away.
You’ll certainly get a good laugh and meet some great guys on here.
Sounds like you know what you’re doing when it comes organising rides. Look forward to riding with you one day.
Cheers
mal.January 4, 2010 at 8:15 pm #167049Thanks for the intro Motoman, Once you spend a bit of time on OBT it becomes easier to navigate. I find that I have the same issues when I get on DBW and trailmates.
AS for young smart arses,we tend to weed them out fairly quickly. Any of the young guys on OBT are kept on a fairly short lead and if they get out of line we usually let them know in no uncertain terms.
We have picked up a lot of members due to the crap that goes on at other sites. We try to run by the not how fast you are on your bike but more, how much fun you can have on your bike philosophy.
I hope you can get some value out of being a contributing member, although it may end up the other way round, as going by your intro, you sound pretty experienced.
Bring your sense of humour and a thick skin and you’ll have a ball.
(BTW. If you have trouble navigating OBT, how do you get on in the bush????..LOL)
Cheers.

Said in jest my friend!! I honestly believe that some people are more in tune to magnetic north than others and can find their way well. (I seem to do ok with finding my way , except when in the Northern hemisphere.) My missus is bloody hopeless with things like that.
January 4, 2010 at 9:37 pm #167019Dont listen to Mick Motoman. I heard he once got lost in a McDonalds drivethru.

AnonymousWelcome Motoman, I have seen you around on DBW
There are a few members in your area (or at least a short drive away) and as is already evident more than a few riders keen to come explore your area, including myself.
I have wanted to do Batemans for a while now, and Canberra isn’t a million miles away. I will make a point of getting down your way this year, so hopefully we can go for a ride
Navigating the site shouldn’t be too bad, like other sites you can use the ‘show latest posts’ to see what’s been happening recently or just click through the individual sections in the ‘Old Bull Forum’.
Nice to have you onboard
January 5, 2010 at 11:52 am #167064Cheers to all for the welcome. I will probably post a ride up over the next week or so for a few weeks away!
January 5, 2010 at 12:06 pm #167189Hey Motoman, here’s to a virtual reacquaintaince, didn’t realise you were so active in leading rides in that area, but i am now.
