I have this 1948 model 210K machine and it’s a goer, like it was new but I dont know how to set the thread tensioner.
I unscrewed the knob and it sprung apart of course, so there seems to be a tric to putting it back so it works within proper tensioning range of 0-9.
I dont know if there is a spacer or what missing, maybe not, it all looks right.
I think it is just a setup procedure.Any one able to advise please?

Hahhaha.Being at work on a monitered server, I was not game to click on a link that Moto posted, that had the word “girls” in the address!!
But as it turns out that is a good place to start looking for info about the singer sewing machines.
Good work moto.February 24, 2009 at 11:10 pm #123736

Chris.Singer actually made motorcycles from 1900-1915 and prior to that they built safety bicycles and even prior to that, they made Penny Farthings.
So it is kinda relevant, and Wikd’s post gave us Googlemysters something to hunt.February 25, 2009 at 2:54 am #123747Quote:Ollie, your 1000th post was in your for sale thread, this is your 1001st you tool!1000, 1001 what ever its all about the quality not the quantity my friend:laugh:

AnonymousYes, but the quality of your post was poor, it contained incorrect information
:laugh:February 25, 2009 at 9:07 pm #123704Thanks Moto, but i must admit to an certain ‘anticipation’ before I clicked the link:kiss:
Luck as it is with me sometimes, found the original instruction book with the old lady down the road and this sorted the problem and then some.
I also photographed the whole thing with digi cam
Might have to continue this with “Sewing tips and tricks”….
Who can make me a needle that will take sailmakers ‘whipping twine’?
It would need a hole with a 0.5mm dia.February 26, 2009 at 1:23 am #123828
AnonymousGeez, now you’re really asking tough questions!
February 26, 2009 at 1:33 am #123889Tough, maybe but this is old technology (1948) and just a matter of having a special skill & tools I think
