The wife recently decided we need a caravan. Great idea thinks me. So purchase a cheapy and well basically i got what i paid for. Previous owner said it only leaked a little but neglected to mention that with the pop top up i could charge for a white water rafting experience.

Anyway my issue is i replaced the master cylinder, bled the brakes and all good. I have gone to adjust the brakes but there is no adjustment slot. It’s an older van and i’m buggered if i know. Any hints appreciated.

I also am a fan of the Electrics Jak,,,
My Jayco has them & they are trouble free & stop the van well ;)

Of course $$$ may be a factor, but you can buy complete electric kits to convert almost anything ,,,
    Check ISP mate for starters

    Good Luck

    Hey JAK, been a while..

a pic or two may help…. if you need any axle, brake, spring parts etc. get em from Melb. trailer centre.

have you had the drum off ?? but it’s a bit hard to adjust em correctly with the drum off….

Electric brakes are the go JAK
I recently bought new brakes drums and bearings for our old van and I’m sure it was around $300
Will need a brake controller though
I have a “Prodigy” which works really well

Thanks for the reply but after doing the research on lecky brakes i couldnt justify them on this.

Anyway spoke to an old mechanic and he put me on the right path.

On the backing plate there are two bolts. Eich only rotates about 180 degrees and you turn these to adjust each pad.
thought i would post this up just incase someone else come across this issue.
