Well Ive gone and bought myself a near new 07 model Gasgas 300 Paid $7k for it I was feeling my age and riding like a gumby on my WR450 so it had to be another 2 stroker.
Things Ive done so far prior to me riding it are.
removed the blinkers and Horn
fitted a perspex headlight gaurd
Teflon taped the clutch and front brake perches
checked the Sag (might need a new spring for my fat arse:laugh: )
cable tied the speedo pickup wire out of harms way
put some protective tape on the forktube staunchions.
fitted pivot pegzI still have a bit more to do this will include:
fit barkbusters
make alloy bashplate
make carbon fibre pipe gaurd
make a protective plate for speedo drive pickup
make a protective rubber cover for the sidestand where it hits the swingarm
make the seat a bit more comfortable currently hard as a plank
sought the jetting after Ive had a ride, might be running lean as it came from Oberon
I want to get some clear 3m or thick contact to go over the plastics(any idea’s?)
Fit Heavy Duty Tubes
OllieNovember 8, 2008 at 7:51 am #111644Ballards have clear 3m thick contact to go over the plastics I had it on my bike and chicken was good enough to test it for me my having a HUGE get of on my bike when it was new on a dirt road, just dirt road, not a 135 foot table top, it was a dirt road, anyway now thats out of my system I can recommend Ballards clear contact.

You’ll be able to see first hand as Gasit will have his at the Xmas party.
November 9, 2008 at 8:36 am #111646the rubbing is possibly caused from a bent bracket or play in bolt.for the spring mount try getting the side out of a chain link enlarge one hole to the same size as bracket hole then bolt on with bracket bolt extending outwards. hook spring in other hole.

Other than that and a need to jet the the thing properly I was really impressed, these things carve up the tight stuff!!
any jetting recomendations?
cheers Ollie
November 9, 2008 at 9:05 am #111708I rode Gasits Gasser today, those things go good!! Gasit was frigging around with jets today so I reckon he can help you out Ollie. Maybe he will tell you about the smaller base gasket while he is at it. Come on Luke, spill your guts.

November 9, 2008 at 10:55 am #111647i am running a Norside power valve cover as well as after market needle which runs a little leaner in the mid range.don’t recommend running a thin base gasket unless fit and racing.they come with a selection of base gaskets. better stick to one down from standard.i will check up on needle size and let you know.running a 38 pilot and a178 main.
