Remember that the weather is now hotter and drier than you have been riding in. You will need to lean off the mainjet and possibly adjust the pilot circuit to compensate for the changed environmental conditions. Just try going down one size on the MJ at a time and take it for a run.
Nah! sorry nigel, the temp on Sunday was very mild about 23 degrees,it was a blockage of some description or at the other extreme an electrical issue, but that reminds me I will have to throw the red JD needle and 168 main in my WR450 on the weekend.
cheers Ollie
Got to say I am with you Ollie, in all my years and having ridden or raced all over in summer winter etc I have never had a bike do that because of jetting, I mean you think to yourself its a but fluffy but never anything more than that, couple of years ago we rode at the snowies up the top of Mt Pinnabar where the jetting was off, then the watagans weeks later and then Condo never changed the jetting.
Blockage or electrical I say

November 11, 2008 at 12:07 pm #111838I guess we will soon find out:) I know what an over rich mainjet feels like, this was more extreme than that, luckily the WR has got a great midrange and didnt need to be revved hard,it was just annoying.
Just fitted the side stand mod that Gasit recommended,it stand doesnt want to snap up and break your ankle now and needs a bit of a push with your boot to get it home, hopefully the springs wont keep jumping off next time I ride it.

i got to have a play on the new 07 Gas Gas 300. I emedietly felt at home, the cockpit comfortable, ergos slim, seat flat and hard. The torqy power of the 300 brought a big grin to my face! Brought back memories of my 98 Yam WR250 2t. The marzochi fork and sachs shock felt just right for me, you know when you jump on a bike and it just feels right?
We rode the section with the woops in it at near the camp site, i was having a ball flicking it neatly through the trees and berms, and skippded across the woops with little effort. We switched bikes to come back through, and although my bike wasn’s on song, it still felt a complete opposite to ride. Felt top heavy, power not as thrilling (maybe jet issue?) and basically felt like jumping on 91 XR 250 (yes TB i did own one!!)
All in all, a bloody great trailbike, light, powerful, nimble, and just very enjoyable to ride. It certainly has me thinking of getting back onto the ringa ding dingers!!! Perhaps the new Husky WR300?!!Off road I personally don’t like the feel of 4Ts, the feel sluggish at best, they maynot be, but they feel that way, all the weight is up high, the gyro effects are annoying, they flameout at low revs too easily and that damn engine braking, ruins my rythym.
I went fourstroke twice, then very very quickly went back to 2T and probably will stay that way until I get too old for the response, then i may go 4T again
Get the smoker mucho mucho funexit the corner feet up,
2nd gear ring ding ring brap brap,
snatch third brap
click into fourth brap
pull the clutch, snick down 2, ring ding ding ding… lock the rear, hard on the front brake up onto the tank pivot around, dump the clutch still in second nail the throttle undercut the bloke on the valve muncher, snick into third come out sideways 20′ roostertail behind leant over at 45, right foot out skimming the earth, stand up on the rear find fourth and do it all again.when you and a 2 stroke are on song it’s almost like sex.
But they are not everyones cuppa I will say that, some blokes just can’t find the rythym and probably should stay 4T

The only rythymn you would have is when your choking your chicken!yeah you’re right Squirrel old buddy ole pal, I fall off every 25 metres on my pushie, can’t ride for more than 10 minutes at a time without jelly rolling off the bike, stay at home feeding my “chicken”, and unfortunately no matter how much i try i’ll never get any better.
I do like motorbicycles heaps though and it is my dream that one day I’ll get one of my very own, until then I’ll run around making noises like a MkII pursang, or a bantam, I can do really really good mono’s in my PJs & thongs too.Ego is dirty word, don’t feed it… can’t injure it

Well Gili pulled the carby down and we discovered the Pilot jet had a partial blockage, The bike was happy to run down low but when the fuel demand got higher it couldnt get enough hence the crap running should all be fixed now:laugh:
BTW I believe that it is still a bit rich, 50 pilot 175 main for a near stock bike! Mine is heavily modded with a jardine full titanium exhaust open airbox and its jetting is pilot 42 main 170 (rich) and JD blue needle.WE both have a bit of jetting to do:laugh:
