February 22, 2010 at 10:36 am #171640OK, Here we go with the vids, I apologise for any bad quality, poor camera work etc & I haven`t viewed them yet so i just posted links to all.
The guy on the RMX is Shane, Ollies Bro, he was just cruising around after we cleared the fallen trees from the track
The other two are Diddel on the Gasser & Champo on his new TM that I think he had picked up that morning :blink:The track for those that missed it was hidden amongst the trees right next to my Cruiser campspot

AnonymousExcellent ride yesterday – one of the best that I have ever done. Although I have been paying for it today.
Special mention to MickG – we tussled the whole ride and Mick absolutely smoked me everywhere all day. On one hill he passed me like I was stopped. I did stuff him up on one snotty hill, I decided (stuffed up big time more like it) to miss the mesh and dig a trench totally wrecking Micks line  I walked back down the hill when I finally struggled to the top to hear Mick cursing that “F@#KIN DAND”
That hill in question was known as Boonys hill, nearly everyone had a moment on it except for Boony. Straight up he went – champions effort
It was great to catch up with everyone again
Thanks to Ollie and crew for a great day – I definately want to do that one again.

Yeah Ollie is it just me or do both AB’s and Champo’s TMs seem really crisp in the videos?

AB’s bike has a tinnier note to it than Champo’s but it certainly isnt lacking in power. when Champo first went out his bike was fluffing really bad (actually dangerous on the doubles)so we raised the clip a notch and fine tuned it with the air screw which made it a lot better. Those TM’s do have some Kahuna’s but I think young Diddel was the fastest around the MX track (but not by much) on the old Gasser, must be youth
February 22, 2010 at 11:14 am #171650Yeah AB’s seemed a toey thing on Saturday for sure Ollie, they both sound crisp on the videos

February 22, 2010 at 11:44 pm #171655Just tried to load some pics but failed
Camera battery still flat
Maybe tomorrow
Only have a couple of the crew at Frying Pan and some of one of the river crossings
Did anyone else take some stills
Can’t view the vids
Cheers
MurphFebruary 22, 2010 at 11:49 pm #171666Since I’ve been so slack sending you the vids from last murphsberg I can burn these and include them Murph. There’s some good stuff in amongst it thankfully. I’m normally pretty set with my camera these days but it had me flustered on sunday and poor ollie had to wait for me a couple of times but was great about it. Thanks again mate I appreciate that it’s a pita sitting at the back babysitting but I guess it gave us an opportunity to flog it and catch back up.
February 23, 2010 at 12:28 am #171667That would be great Trent

Funny you say that considering my pipe has taken more hits than the hippy I ran into and even has a pinhole in it now! It certainly isn’t lacking in power anywhere though and if it was then thank the bike gods otherwise I could’ve ended up half way up a tree! It does feel spot on and I changed the suspension settings for the weekend and I think they were great. Given that I’m the limiting factor in how well my bike handles I can’t say for sure it handled better but I think it did and I also know that I wasn’t as knocked around in the upper body as I have been on previous rides with it though that might be that I’ve started to get more comfortable using rear brake which puts the force lowere and through the bike and body rather than straight over the bars and into your arms/shoulders. Of course squeezing the bike with your knees helps but without rear brake you really belt yourself especially on downhills.
Couple of other things I learnt or put into practice over the weekend:
[ol]smooth application of the throttle is key. – still working on this as I tend to blip it too much [/ol]
[ol]when you ride ruts don’t look at them, look past them and power out – this worked a treat.[/ol]
[ol]Riding on the pipe in 5th on the road for 20kms chews your tyre – time for another scorpion I think[/ol]February 23, 2010 at 4:30 am #171675Hey guys, Another great w/end had a ball with some new faces and ssome old ones.
