Here is what happened to the GasGas gearbox when the chain derailed.Total cost about $760

snapped teeth off 3/4 gear and the primary driven gear

    gears.jpg

The engine was put together by Macleay motorcycles http://macleaymotorcycles.com.au/index.html only problem That I can fault was the mechanic didnt trim the case gasket as seen below. Labor for pulling engine apart putting new gears seals and gaskets in putting it back together $180

got the spares from Scotties dirtbike supplies in Melbourne http://www.scottysdirtbikespares.com/

great service great guy, knows Gassers inside out.

    Should be a goer midweekB)

while the bike was out of action I also completley striped the linkages and swing arm and steering head bearing and anything else that moves and cleaned and regreased it. ;)

They were recommended by several people and Now that I have dealt with them,I can ring them up and ask questions. Sutto’s dont do Gasgas anymore which is a bummer.

There is but the wrap these guys got and their outstanding postage service, not to mention their intimate knowledge of Gasgas won it over for me. I am sure that the other dealers would of been fine as well but these guys were good on the phone prior to me ordering the parts, nothing to big or small a problem, all about customer service I guess, hence the Kudo’s in this forum. credit given where credit deserved B)

Nice to see it’s back together mate. At least it didn’t cost too much in the end. $760 for chuffing 3 gears in the box isn’t bad really.

Well Boyz I am well and truly pissed off at the moment I put the engine back in the bike and bolted all the bits and pieces up. I then went to check the operation of the gearbox and No Go:angry:  The selector would not move. So I get on the blower and get the mechanic,he seems to think it would be an easy fix and attempted to explain to me how to go about it. A couple of hours later still no joy so I was going to head up the coast and drop it off,but a few things came up and couldnt make it. So I am now going to put out the plea for Mercy is anyone going from Sydney to Kempsey or close by who can carry a Motorbike up for me?

any offers would be greatly appeciated
