    In a word, SHIT.
The loving wife purchased a set of M10’s for me for Xmas to replace the old faithful AXO RC3’s.
Admittedly the M10’s would not have been my boot of choice but because the missus bought them for me I have put up with them untill now.
First indication that something wasn’t right was when all of a sudden when the boots were only two months old the leather part of the boots started to look like they were starting to rot.The shine on the leather started to peel off and they started to take on a cracked suede appearance. So not happy I took them back to the dealer and they sat there untill the rep from the distributors (some mob called Cassons or something like that) came and had a look at them.
His diagnosis was that the boots were waterlogged and had been for some time so they wouldn’t warrant the boots. Aren’t dirt bike boots supposed to get wet from time to time?
We have ten sets of boots here and the M10’s were treated exactly the same if not better as any other boot in the shed and none of those other boots which includes another set of M10’s my son owns, rotted.
The dealer to their credit, honestly thought I should have been treated better by the distributor so they have offered to go 50/50 with me and has offered to give me $150 off my next set of boots. An offer I probably wont take up because I can get what ever brand of boot more than $150 cheaper than their prices else were.
Now to top it all off with the M10’s the sole is starting to come off, so you can see why I have come to the conclusion they are SHIT. I would be amazed if these boots have been worn more than 20 times and they are starting to fly apart like a chinese motorbike.
In their favour though, I found them to be very comfortable and the buckle system is quite good.
It is a pity they have used shit leather and equally shit glue.
NOT HAPPY CASSONS!!! So you can stick your Oneal products and your after sales service were the sun don’t shine.

I cant say I am surprised Mick I have tried O Neil stuff over the years and always wonder why I bother. When I went to cape york in 2004 and bought two pairs of O neil pants, 1 I threw in the bin at Archer river on the way home and the others when I got home. I know its each for the own etc and they are cheap, but the fox pants I have now are 3 and half years old been worn everywhere and are just fine! I got 7 years from a pair of Alpine star boots, and these OXSTAR boots I wear now are unreal.

Mate I am wearing a set of Fox 180 pants that I got on Ebay 2nd hand for $40 and they are still in good nick after a year of abuse.
When it comes down to brands,I suppose you get what you pay for and that probably includes after sale service.

i am running 07 oniel mayhem gear, and it the pants are probably the most uncomfy i have owned! the jersey has held up fine, no shape change, but the pant are just crap! would not recommend them at all. My uncle reckons that the Thor gear is just about unbeatable, if you’re willing to pay a little extra!

Both Ant and Chris have the Oneal pants and aren’t happy either.
They started to fall apart after the first wash.

    Update on the M10’s
I went for a ride on the weekend and another guy had a set on and they had done exactly the same thing as mine……Waterlogged indeed. The leather must have come from a Chinese cow with leperosy.

I had a look a O’neal stuff when I was getting all my gear, it looked cheaper than the rest. For things like boots and helmets I reckon you have to get decent stuff. Gaerne made awesome trials boots, they were so comfy. I wouldn’t mind giving them a try (enduro/MX ones I mean).

I have a set of O’Neil boots and after almost 2 years they still seem OK. My best riding pants are an old set of O’Neils from about 1999 or so, but I know the quality has dropped off since then.

I love Gaerne boots, have used them in the past, but none were available in the shops locally – it was Fox or O’Neil and the Fox versions didn’t fit as well. I can’t complain about the current O’Neil boots but my next set will involve a trip to the big smoke for some Gaerne’s.

Must say, I haven’t seen the problems with O’Neil gear that you blokes are reporting though.

I purchased two sets of Oneal pants before I went to the cape in 2004, threw one pair away at the cape because the stitching was coming undone and the other pair one ride after I got home.

You get what you pay for in life!

O’neal pants= rubbish we have 4 sets at home all rubbish
    O’neal boots(mine)=rubbish
O’neal boots(sons)=did well before he grew out of them
    O’neal gloves(mine)=good
O’neal gloves(daughters)=crap tab pulled off first moto
O’neal jumpers(sons & daughters x 5) various issues, piling, stitching and shape loss but colours good
O’neal helmets (Mine, sons old ones, daughters x2) all good

the reason we had so much O’neal gear was that one of the local shop/dealer used to give us a cost price deal when the kids raced BMX and my kids where sorta on a B-team sponsership deal he had going all over the country and the O’neal importers helped him out with that

for our other current stuff, Fox gear mucho betterer, Thor good, “Alloy” MX gear top of the line quality,
and Oxtar boots are wearing great on the young bloke and he is a walking destructo machine.
