Well yesterday I spent a couple of hours digging.
Lowered the water level by about 6″ through the Awaba tunnel
Also did some maintenance on the Awaba side of the tunnel. :woohoo:Today I rode out to the top of Amazon
One of the side singles on the left still remains closed, at least until I get up there, maybe Friday.
Someone had done a fair bit of work around the top of Amazon (thankyou whoever you are) :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Did a fair bit of clearing and maintenance until my saw became blunt.
Please do not throw the rocks out I put in at a particular tree root hazard
Tried cutting a section of old timber, fallen log, to make a different line but that wood is too old to be cut      :ohmy:More work needs to done at stage 3
Ruts need to filled with rocks
Hope to that over the weekend
Cheers

June 19, 2015 at 12:29 am #262072Well its a shitty wet day, so I don’t think I will get to do any track maintenance today.
Might have to play in the shed instead
Cheers
MurphJune 24, 2015 at 7:51 am #262077Today I took both saws out and cleared the track from the bottom of Amazon (Becks Rd) to Freemans.
Drove in from Freemans end and cut the big trees that were across the track. :S
Then walked the rest of the track with the little saw clearing as I went.
Pretty happy with the result
Cheers
MurphJuly 9, 2015 at 1:12 am #262121This morning I was out early
Drove almost to the Basin and had to walk numerous kms (bloody gates) to get to the problem logs near Bar Hill.
All clear now :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Rushed back for an 11:00am ride with the Dude but the plan had changed :pinch:
Looking like kicking back on the verandah for the rest of the day
Hopefully riding Tuesday, next week with a few young newbies
Will post up if we can get an act together
Cheers
MurphJuly 13, 2015 at 5:41 am #262282Spent more time out in rather cool conditions today
Most of the singles are open heading towards the Basin
Did a fair bit of work on a single on the western side of Walkers Ridge Forest Rd
More work needs to be done on the very first singles heading NW along Wollombi Forest Rd
Ongoing :pinch:
Cheers
MurphJuly 13, 2015 at 10:42 am #262070Great work Murph, much apreciation for your effort.
August 2, 2015 at 5:23 am #262294Spent a few hours on Amazon’s first three stages
Cleared some fallen timber and added a few strategically placed rocks on stage 1 :woohoo:
Left stage 2 the way it was, as there was nothing that really needed doing, but it is without a doubt becoming harder. :silly:
Did a fair bit of work placing rocks and filling ruts on stage 3. (If you need any stone masonary done, give me a call)
As it is now, the harder part is the first section of stage 3. 👿
If you intend to ride this track, please refrain from trenching it if possible.
It may be worth just rolling back a bit and giving it another go instead of trench war fare   :silly:
We have a true love/hate relationship with this hill 👿 👿 :pinch:
Cheers
MurphAugust 3, 2015 at 12:24 am #262441Great work Murph,
I went for a little local ride last weekend and rode up Razorback. One large tree is down on the 2nd/ last hill. I will be driving out there one arvo this week to cut it. Other then that the trail is Awesome
I am going for a ride this weekend if l can get away and checking out Congo.
Thrillseeker
August 3, 2015 at 3:15 am #262443Thats awesome, Thrillseeker.
I was going to check those two tracks as well but haven’t had the time.
I have a three hills ride half organised with Mal and crew at the end of the month.
I think Slippery Rock has a huge tree down so our usual four hills and a footlong is out
Let me know if you need help with the tree removal on Razorback
Also, much appreciated if you give us a report on the condition of Congo and again if there is work to be done, perhaps I could lend a hand.
Cheers
