Well we hit the singles again, and had load more fun. We ended up on the edge of the forrest on a twin trail, which we head along and looped back onto the track we entered on.
The twin track was a load of fun, plenty of variety, with uphills, fast lefts and rights. We followed this untill we hit the tarmac for a 15 minute transport section. We hit dirt again and followed the track for a K or so untill the track deteriorated and we hit the pines again. I said to myself bloody hell, as all i could see was trees and logs down and no clear cut way around them. If this was the start of the day i reacon i might have hit the deck as me and log crossing are still very new, but with some coaching throughout the day and alot of practice i was keen to get to the other side and no too worried about the inbetween.
We hit the forrest dodging half a dozen or so downed large trees and plenty of logs. I lost sight of TB and idlejet and had Krusty and chris chomping at the bit to get out the otherside, so i tried my best to see the path the boys took. Lucky the new tire from TB and the 650 led the rest of the way out into the swamp.
We pulled up with grins ear to ear, in what resembled the entrence to camp Crystal lake(friday the 13th). A burnt out car, a mud pit that had been rutted out and dug up by what could only be monster trucks, And a swamp/lake. We eat lunch, had plenty of laughs and got back into it.
More twin trails and hills. We came across this one hill which TB and idlejet had made their way up and were watching from the top, the carnage that followed. It was Krusty first, but he got stuck about half way and went down. Chris went to aid while i watched and tried not to over think things as TB had given me some advice in the car on the way.
Krusty turned his bike and head for another shot, so while he gathered his breath, i had crack.
I fired up the Kato and bounced my way most of the way up the hill.(and for everyone that has commented on the video’s, i will endevour to stand up more, thanks guys). I got stuck 3/4 of the way up and TB was yelling out to turn around but i had faith in the Recluse to lift me out of the spot i was stuck in and power on. As it happens it did and i eventually made it to the cheer of the boys at the top, which was tops.
After everyone was at the top, we headed off again and rode a mixture of twin and single stuff untill TB found an interesting looking single that headed into the scrub. So we took it.
As we started out i was thinking to myself, this looks great. But it turns out that thought came too soon. Very quickly things went south and my limits were pushed and then run over. I was out of my league and hangin on. But lovin every turn.
It was a tight, almost overgrown single in aussie bush, with rocks that ranged from the size of a pebble to the size of my rear sproket. The trail went uphill with deep ruts that i tried to keep out of but slipped in a few times, rocks littered everywhere and trees down all over the place. The track continued on uphill and as quick as i could grab 3rd it started to go down hill, literally. The down hill went on for a while and with some slow sections, i found the Recluse a little bit tricky to get use to, but managed.
We stopped a few times to regroup and kept at it. We came across TB on the otherside of a dry creek crossing with a tree down in the way, then a slight hill climb.
I stumbled at first and almost lost my balance but managed to hold it up and cross the log, and with that momentom hit the hill.
Everyone made it over without any big dramas and we continued on. Well after i while things improved slightly but like all good things that had to end. And it did abruptly, again with TB mounted on the side of a hill, camera in hand.
Well this one was a good one, three or four different was up, and not one i liked as an option but oh well such is life.
I hit the hill and made it half way but stopped. This time i had to bite the bullet and turn around because this one was steep.
Everyone else made their way to the top and thus i had my second crack. I made it past where i stopped but only just and stopped most of the way up the hill. After an almost drop, and a crap atempt at lifting off, once again the Kato hit the deck.
After a few big ones and a chat with the camera, i finished off the hill.
The trail continued on in much the same fashion, coming to a pretty awsome step up, about knee high, maybe a bit higher, which i made it up, With a bit of wheel spin.
We found our way at the end of the trail and back on some twin track, and as much as i enjoyed conquering everything thrown at me, i was somewhat releaved as was everyone else. We stopped for out last breather and chat and hit the twin track. This was a great trail, fast, open, running beside a river in spots. We all opened up and had some fun.
With directions from a frightened but calm lady walking her dog, we found the way out and headed back to the cars.
A great way to finish the day, a cruise in 6th gear occasionally giving the thorttle a squirt to admire the sound of the akro, changing over to reserves around the corner from the cars i was overall happy with the Kato and the day.
A quick pack up, chat and headed off. After a short stint to Bathurst, a stop off at the trusty bottlo and plenty more laughs, we pulled up at Sunny corner to storys of the day and the horrible news of axle having to be towed back(we shall not speak of by what, except it was a four banger). A chain change and a few more beers on TB’s part we headed back to Sydney with a Suzuki new to the trailer and me at the helm.

Thanks to TB, for leading a very memorable ride. I’ve never had as much fun as i did saturday. Thanks to everyone for your words of wisdom and encouragement throughout the day.

And Krusty, check ur break light. :silly:

    Untill next time.

Awesome reports too guys my problem is I don’t remember things like where we were when we did what it all just blends together, thats why I like the cam I can remind myself, I’m lucky to find my way out the driveway most mornings. Next time I’ll take a notebook and pencil and stick it to my bars so I can take notes

That is exactly how I probably would have taken that corner too
